The report concluded that while the AI boom will substantially enrich giant tech companies, creators' rights and income streams will be drastically reduced unless policymakers step in.

It's worth noting the study doesn't seem to have any data showing the consumption of GenAI music from users. Hopefully people naturally find themselves not liking this cheap, cynical product masquerading as music.

lol, you're clearly asking for too much here.

People have to reject AI curation but it seems to be a regular part of peoples daily music listening now :chick3:

To be fair, other than my 2 faves, I listen to mostly AI music. This might be just my personal preference.

Hopefully, but I'm thinking the majority of people either don't know any better or don't care.

And what about the kids? They think that's music. They definitely don't know any better :gaycat6:

I didn't even know AI music even existed, let alone that people consumed it. What a sad state of affairs. What's the point of art if you don't get the point of view of the artist?

A lot of people who listen to AI music prefer the AI generated voices compared to actual human voices. :giraffe:

Plus the lyrics in most songs are basically gibberish anyway, so AI lyrics are not that out of place compared to most pop songs.

The US just re-reelected Trump I have no faith in the human race anymore. They'll likely eat this music up and bot183821 will snatch Lil Nas x's record and outsell Taylor and Adele in albums:deadbanana2:. I hate it here

I don't think that's true, the appeal of AI music has always been "what if artist "A" sang or recorded artist's Y's-song." I find it very hard to believe that someone actually prefers an AI generated voice (which is far from perfect and no where near the original artist's voice) on a song.

with the amount of people recreating a song with their fave's vocals online, I lost any hope tbh

Meh, auto tune has existed for decades, no one's real voice is used any more anyway.

It's extremely hard to tell the difference now, especially in classical genre. Just go around Spotify and look up the most popular instrument tracks and most of the artists popping up are from 2-3 years ago and have all the signs of being AI.

People in favor of AI music using the "it's better anyway" or "autotune existed for decades" or "i want my faves to sing x song" should he banned from this forum of all forums.

You all can have the giggles and fantasies in the world but wait till your faves make a fit and stop releasing music altogether because of your reasoning.

Let's see how you like that.

Not only them, but many corporations staff and many other sectors.

And this will complete the enshittification of the entertainment industry.

The movies, tv shows, and (mainstream) music the past 10 years, especially the past 5, have all been largely cheap, unoriginal, uninspired, poorly written, and lazy. This is the final nail in the coffin.
