Seriously, how does Madonna have drive and work ethic after 45+ years?

……and even superstars like Beyoncé, Tina, Cher, Shakira (and even JLo).

The scrutiny, the Ls, just not having the will to live when life keeps kicking you down into the gutter. I'm feeling particularly down in my personal and professional life for a while now, yet all I need to do is watch a tour video or an interview to how she faced the criticisms and kept pushing forward in the 80s up till today, be it religion, sexism, ageism, homophobia, ridicule on her personal looks, no fear of being called all sorts of names. And she didn't have that musical inner circle or support group to surround herself with like Janet or Whitney did (though as black women they faced additional hurdles).

She keeps going on, getting on her horse and selling music, sold our tours, her investments, maintaining an Olympian fitness regime and physique, continuing learning and innovating.

They say that after a certain tax bracket, money doesn't make that much of a difference.

So my question is how do they have the drive and ability to face adversity and the crap life throws at us for 20/30/40+ years???

Madonna had a dream and she worked her ass off to achieve it. Only certain types of people can have longevity in their careers the way she has done. It's why she's an icon. Not everybody has that drive or commitment to themselves and that's okay. It's impossible to say why she has it. She just does.

For her and others this is a craft, one never stops improving and gaining experience. For others is a job.

Despite public opinion of Madonna, she has always shown she is an artist and that is what drives her. She was born to do what she does.

she's just built different. i know we're not supposed to say that because we're all products of our environment and we're all equal and blah blah but really Madonna cannot be compared to an average person

1) true artist who is still inspired and stimulated and curious and involved unlike some of her peers and successors who rest on their laurels, repeatedly rehash past successes, or trot out hits from the 90s every chance they get

2) built different, strong like bull, balls of steel etc

3) strong family core with her children

She is by no means perfect but

When she says she is interested and inspired by art, she really means it. It's funny because she's always quite hesitant/humble to call herself an artist, even though she clearly is. If she was in it for the money or fame she would have been bored by 1988.

Madonna is a rebel. Always has been, always will. It's expected in society to slow down once you reach a certain age. Naturally, she's gonna wanna prove the opposite. That's what I love about her. She hates conventional norms.

Because she is for the arts not the charts, even though she's ruled those as well :coffee:
