The quality of her voice and delivery takes you places, like you're experiencing a story. It's very simple to understand.

My favorite song she sung is Only You (13 Reasons Why). Such a sad song!

And that's a cover. :toofunny2:

I don't think I've heard the ballads Miss Gomez is referring to

she was a disgrace in Emilia Perez where she was supposed to portray a character so I don't know about the storytelling either

Its actually so ironic how Selena "plays the victim" but THOSE are the comments when she's asked a simple question about her music career
There's no way one can have a +1 decade successful music career without talent, this just doesn't happen.

"All writers" she's wrote a lot of what made to the final version of Lose You To Love Me alone.

But anyway, not only emotions but she also slays in more sexy songs like Fetish, Hands to Myself and even her verses in bops like Taki Taki and Calm Down. She also slays EDM.
Her tune is very good and not only in ballads, but i get why she feels like this.

She's right, although "being able to tell a story" is something everyone is able to do imo. You must be really bad if you aren't able to make people feel something with a ballad. Ballads are usually when artists give their all.

The GP is already tired of her ballads, they want sexy upbeat bops or mid tempo tracks from her

No, you're not dear lol.

Her strong point are r&b leaning songs, she excels at them, at least in the studio versions.

I agree on the storytelling part cause the performance at the AMAs was a disaster and I felt that

Her fans rally against people who say she's untalented but it's so clear she has imposter syndrome and knows that herself :deadbanana4:

having successful songs about personal stuff (aka high profile relationships people want to know more about) doesn't equal to being good at storytelling, she has a lot of bops and hits but they're clearly not successful because of her input.

Maybe she's great at storytelling in movies and television because the only story her music is telling me is to turn it off.
