Alldeezy Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Hopefully married to a cutie But I'll be like in my 50s then so if I'm not married hopefully I'll be dead 1
gagacasanova Posted December 4 Posted December 4 Personally, I've already committed to not having kids & not being married. Professionally, I like where I'm at. I've already started telling people I'll still be there when I'm 90. (If I even make it that far). 1

Capris Groove Posted December 5 Posted December 5 The biggest one is that I want to be self-employed. Setting my own work hours is so important to me. I also want a cottage somewhere in the country. 1
Miss Fortune Posted December 5 Posted December 5 paid off my mortgages + turned my attention to making a positive impact quite inspired recently by this quote "a society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit." and trying to work out what 'trees' I want to plant 1

Being self-employed is a fantastic journey to go on. It is quite an easy trap to just work & work & work (which is very rewarding if you want to do that) but if you want to focus on setting your own hours, I would work backwards from what money you need to live comfortably + determine what you need to earn. Not sure what your profession is but if you can niche down with a sought after skill, it's quite a clear path to work towards a high day rate + then booking yourself with enough contracts to cover what you need. 1

Thanks boo. Yes I'm working on it, I just resigned from a 10 year career in finance and I'm going back to school for Registered Massage Therapy. RMTs can make their own work schedules essentially. They decide how busy or light they want to be. I love that. And in Canada at least it's about $130 for a massage right now (mostly covered by people's work benefits of course), so the hourly rate is quite high. 1

Sounds fantastic and what an awesome transition from finance to massage. That is worlds away. Brave to step away from a decade of experience – imagine it will be super rewarding for you! 1
