Beyoncé goes on another tour, with no act 3 in sight.

'reputation (TV)' gets a big promo push à la 'RED (TV)' and debuts with 1M+, 'Debut (TV)' gets a more lowkey release.

New Morgan Wallen album drops and monopolises the US charts for half the year.

BTS get the biggest album globally with their 2025 comeback.

Kendrick Lamar delivers the best Halftime Show of the past 10 years & drops another album in the Spring.

The Weeknd will manage to get another huge smash, but the album will just do "okay".

Harry Styles and Bruno Mars (solo) also come back with new studio albums and do very well.

In general I can see 2025 being a "course-correction" and thus a very male artist-centric year in pop culture, like 2017 also was (and that not-so-coincidentally was Trump's first year in office too). :lakitu:

Rihanna: more beauty products, no new music, recurrent streams continue to rise. In other words, same old same old :sistrens:

  • Kendrick has a top 3 halftime show. Ever. He drops another album and it has a Jay Z feature as well as a feature from an underground lyricist. Fingers crossed for Roc Marciano.
  • Drake is sued.
  • Hurry Up Tomorrow is a(nother) dud but this time the masses agree.
  • Clipse' comeback album is lauded and one of the rap AOTYs, has a Jay-Z feature & shots at Jim Jones.
  • Madison Beer has a Carly Rae Jepsen-esque year and drops a widely lauded but commercially lukewarm album.
  • xaviersobased gets a billboard hit

You all will continue to overhype Addison Rare and overlook her lack of talent while dragging Selena for the same thing. She continues to be a total non-factor outside of stan circles.

  • Wicked wins a bunch of Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for Ariana. Cynthia is snubbed and it's a big controversy, but she gets her win for Part 2 in 2026.
  • Ariana drops Eternal Sunshine deluxe the Friday after the Oscars as a thank you to the fans. She won't have time to tour or release any other music the rest of 2025. She will be on the awards show circuit in the winter, and will use the other months between to rest before promotion cycle for Wicked 2 begins in late summer 2025. She won't have time to tour.
  • Billie wins album of the year for a second time with Hit Me Hard & Soft. She drops a deluxe of the album following the Grammys.
  • Beyonce drops Act 3 in Fall 2025. She will tour after this one throughout 2026 for a tour that emphasizes Act 2 and Act 3. She will announce an extended hiatus following Act 3 and its tour.
  • Taylor will announce Reputation TV at the Grammys and release it in late March. She will announce Self Titled TV in early May and release it in late July. No new album until 2026. She will lay kinda low this year besides the TVs. She'll announce her engagement to Travis in the late summer/early fall which will cause hype to build for the album in 2026. Then she will be everywhere in 2026.
  • Sabrina will push Bed Chem hard in early 2025 with a controversial video. It's a hit. She then releases Juno in April or May, which is also a hit. Juno gets a remix with someone for its single releases. She then finally releases a deluxe on the 1 year anniversary of Short n Sweet in August 2025.  No new album until 2026.
  • Chappell does release a new album in 2025, but it will have a weird roll-out. Nonetheless she gets another big hit. She is the controversial girl of the year but it ends up benefitting her because a song that discusses her backlash resonates with the public. She'll become deeply polarizing. The album is not what people expect, people either love it or hate it.
  • Gaga album doesn't perform well commercially but is adored by her fans who stuck with her.  Good word of mouth keeps it from totally failing and it overall does similar to Chromatica. She tours for most of 2025 and it sells well.
  • Doja releases a new album and it has multiple hits and is one of the biggest albums of the year.
  • Bruno releases a new album and it is also one of the biggest albums of the year.
  • The Weeknd's album does good but not outstanding. the streams burn slowly but eventually end up high.  The album is well received. The era kinda comes and goes but it doesn't flop.  Kinda similar to Eternal Sunshine in 2024.  One song is huge.
  • Morgan Wallen releases a new album in 2025 and it is also one of the biggest albums of the year. There are some songs that are more poppy than his past work and while the album is massive, some country fans start complaining
  • Jack Harlow releases a song where he sings
  • Drake drops either a song or an EP on or around Kendrick's Superbowl but it is not received well and totally tanks. Kendrick drops more new music in 2025 following a well-received HT that includes even more disses.

- Beyonce tours in summer 2025, and releases a one-off single or two. (Adele / Coldplay and Bruno Mars, respectively? I don't think Ryan Tedder was lying)

- J Cole releases his side project "It's A Boy" to acclaim.

- TSwift releases a Reputation vault track featuring Kanye West, and his verse begins with an apology about the VMAs before a pig-latin spiral into the Diddy case, causing him to have to appear as a witness.

- Donald Trump gets sick during a speech, playing golf, or at a press conference. JD Vance makes a large gaff/freudian slip/mistake.. causing scandal on TV.

- Aaliyah's evil uncle has a change of heart when that new Aaliyah album is released, and suddenly JoJo gets rights to her four albums of unreleased songs.

- Cardi B gets a Beyonce collaboration for her album, causing Nicki to spiral yet again.

- Jay-Z ignores 50 Cent and Dame Dash for another year, potentially buying back the stake in his debut album that Dame lost to tax arrears.

- Britney Spears works on a dark, resilient album with William Orbit, Cirkut, and The Weeknd. Kevin Federline starts strange Twitter rant and goes back and forth with Azealia Banks.

- Ciara has another child with Russell Wilson.

- Paris Jackson's music is somehow included in her dad's biopic, resulting in a sudden spike up the charts.

- ASAP Rocky is convicted of his weapons charge, and blurts out in court while being taken away that Rihanna is his wife. Drake spirals further.

- Drake continues to release music to diminishing returns as he does not want to admit he lost, and somehow ends up married for several months to JLo.

- Azealia Banks actually releases a project of some sort that is well-received. She moves to Sweden permanently.

- Serena & Venus Williams go for one last doubles title at either Wimbledon or the US Open, with Venus retiring at the end of the year.

- TSwift releases debut (TV) and features a sizable artist from that era: someone like Daniel Powter, Matt Nathanson, Ashlee Simpson, or Norah Jones.

- Kelis shows up to the premiere of the Pharrell biopic uninvited to stir up mess on the red carpet and get ownership of her music back.

Predictions

  • Harry smashes hard with his new record (unfortunately).
  • Miley delivers one of the best albums of the year.
  • Taylor gags everyone with how good Debut TV is and people outside the Swifties will fall in love with her again.
  • Beyoncé surprise-drops Act III and embark on a tour for the whole trilogy, finally visiting places she left out before (i.e. Latin America, Oceania).
  • Gaga has a great year with performances at Coachella, Glastonbury and a free show in Rio de Janeiro.

Just me manifesting

  • Coldplay get inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, release a smash hit with Bruno Mars, appear on Act III and close their tour at Maracanã Stadium.
  • Elon Musk finally d!3s in the most painful way possible.
