Fitzswiftie Posted November 30 Posted November 30 This year's shortlisted musicians predicted to be the next big thing are… • Barry Can't Swim (Scottish DJ) • Chappell Roan (American pop singer) • Confidence Man (Australian EDM duo) • Doechii (American rapper) • English Teacher (British indie rock band) • Ezra Collective (English jazz collective) • Good Neighbours (UK indie pop band) • KNEECAP (Irish rap group) • Mk.gee (American guitarist) • Myles Smith (English acoustic pop singer) • Pozer (English rapper) Previous winners include Adele, Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Sam Smith, PinkPantheress and FLO. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ckgvpz0kry8o
Abracadabra Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Chappell Roan being included here is kinda weird since 2024 was definitely already her breakthrough year commercially, although it is possible she could become even bigger in 2025 8 2
glitch Posted November 30 Posted November 30 I always thought this was supposed to be a way to promote new British acts... 3
Hexchromatica Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Chappell on this list makes no sense. Glad to see Confidence Man on here, thought I'd see Rose Gray 4
KYLIETENSION Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Confidence Man NEEDS to win this. They are seriously one of Australia's best exports. I have seen them on every single Oz tour they have done and I'm so jealous that we have lost them to the UK since the general public didn't give them their dues here. Even though it'll probably go to Chappell because of her fame, Con needs to win and that's the pure end of it. 2 2
LadyDiana Posted November 30 Posted November 30 British press can't predict ****... how about predicting what kind of a disasster brexit would be and YET migration SOARED after it, even tho it was supposed to stop it, **** u british press, ******* joke 1 1
Polgg48 Posted November 30 Posted November 30 the amount of industry payola to english teacher is too on the nose, good for them if it makes them feel better and cute nom for kneecap.
sk8erfan Posted November 30 Posted November 30 The British press is the LEAST qualified entity to predict anything…the payola-d beigeness that has been coming out of this country for the past 5 years is astounding. You can't tell two artists apart on BBC Radio 1
Kylie Jenner Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Kinda wish Rose Gray was nominated too but oh well 3
Vignesh Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Mk.gee and Ezra Collective have been staples on my playlist lately so I'm definitely stoked to see them on here.
Gossip_Boy Posted November 30 Posted November 30 They really need to let "Sound of…" go cause the last few years has been very lazy. It is supposed to give a platform and exposure to artists/bands that really need it. Several of these names should not be here. Anywho that was too long. Kneecap for the win. 1

I had no idea who they were and became a fan
campelo Posted November 30 Posted November 30 I used to anticipate this list during 2010s but this decade they didn't served much

Luckitty Posted November 30 Posted November 30 predicting chappell is so lazy & safe, she's already big and everyone can tell that her next album is going to be bigger
