I do not go to bat for britney or gaga

 

Years ago I would have thought this comparison to be a joke though, with the obvious answer being gaga 

 

But honestly I just don't see a pervasive gaga influence. She dissipated so fast and I don't think her effect was felt much beyond people wearing kooky outfits

 

Britney's downfall, as well as the phenomenon of all her copycats, would have a way more detailed entry in the pop culture mega encyclopedia, if that makes sense 

 

Maybe gaga influence will feel larger when 2010s nostalgia occurs. The aughts are kinda being dissected right now
