I had to put my beloved 15 y/o babe Xenia down today She got really sick yesterday and they discovered an advanced colon tumor, which is pretty much incurable for a dog of her age. This is her: It happened so fast, I'm completely devastated. My heart hurts so bad. Everything reminds me of her. Right now i'm not sure how life is supposed go o on tbh. 45

Alaska. Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Sorry to hear that. I had to put my 13 year old husky down 2 years ago and I was a mess as well. Thank God I was working at home that day and had to watch some boring sessions on Zoom because I cried throughout the day and didn't pay attention to anything else. 3

visions Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I'm so sorry, she was adorable! 15 years is amazing though and I bet you gave her such an amazing life. You are your dogs' entire life, and she wouldn't want you to always remember her in sadness but in those 15 wonderful years you gave her 1
SoldierofLove Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I'm so sorry for your loss. I also lost my dog when she was 15 I know how painful this is for you right now. I'll leave you with this poem that I read when I miss my girl Quote Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... 1

dumbsparce Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Sending you love! If it makes you feel better, consider yourself and your dog lucky it happened so fast.. there's nothing worse than hopelessly watching the inevitable get closer and closer. 1
WildOne Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I've lost dogs, it's the most painful thing in the world, but the pain you feel is just a symptom of the love you shared. She's out of pain now and can rest easy knowing how loved she was. Be patient with yourself
The7thStranger Posted November 27 Posted November 27 My condolences. It's one of the worst pains to go through.
RussianRoulette Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I'm sorry for your loss. I was a mess after my dog passed this summer. I'm sure she was lucky to have you as her parent. There is a stray dog near the market from where I do my shopping and I feed him sometime. Not all animals are lucky. 1
