Did you know Shania's "Ka-Ching!" is a Christmas song?

Originally intended for her Christmas album that never came to fruition and ended up on Up! instead. 

 

Should she re-release it with some bells and chimes?

What? I mean the theme fits consumerism but I've been a Shania stan all these years. Where is this tea coming from?

I've been a Shania fan since out of the womb, being born and raised in Timmins, and never once heard that this was suppose to be a Christmas song.

I'm sure I've heard her talk about it or read an interview somewhere before but the only source I can find right now is this: 

 

Even more shocking is that this biting indictment of consumer culture was originally written for her Christmas album, but she added it to Up! when that project was shelved.

Is it that the song in it's early forms/ideas was meant for a Christmas album, or the final product was? Because that's two very different things.  

 

I cant see how if they added bells, and made it less pop-rockish/country how it could be a Christmas song.. but I can't see how in it it's final form it is.

btw always thought this song was kinda lame but I still love it. It's cheesy/corny good. The album had so many platitudes.

damn I had no idea?! but it actually makes sense - dragging consumerism during Xmas shopping
