Armani? Posted November 27 Posted November 27 https://www.cnn.com/election/2024/exit-polls/national-results/general/president/0 The most ironic finding - 18 - 29 Hispanic Men - 54% Trump 18 - 29 White Men - 53% Trump Spoiler It was 58% Trump before the final update for Gen Z Hispanic Men Gen Z Men overall tie at 49% Trump/48% Kamala. Overall Hispanic Vote declines for the 3rd time in their updates, now a 51% Kamala/46% Trump split after Hispanic Women declines to 58% Kamala from 60% in earlier update. Black vote nudges back up to 86% Kamala from 85% before. Trump remains unchanged at 13%. The overall White vote ticks up 1% to 42% Kamala(1% higher than Biden in 2020 exit poll) although unclear if this is really a gain since more methologically stronger Pew Research & Catalist analysis had Biden at 43% and 44% of the White Vote in 2020.

Jotham Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I wish the data were disaggregated because Hispanic is still a broad category.

Dula Peep Posted November 27 Posted November 27 There's a lot to unpack here….. but the biggest thing to not is that it was not the landslide Republicans have made it out to be…. 1
Breathe On Moi Posted November 27 Posted November 27 when will we have the honest conversation that these men would have not voted for a woman, let alone a black woman, to lead them, cut and dry, it's the truth. 2 4

I think I read somewhere that the average genetic makeup of a South American is around 60% white. And I think in the US it would be higher because someone with a white parent and a Hispanic parent may be 80% white for example but still call themselves Hispanic. Also a lot of white people will be like 1/16th black or native american or whatever and cling onto that like their life depends on it. Like people like Drake, Barack Obama, J. Cole are half white, but would pretend to be just black if asked what race they are.

Meev Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I live in Australia, and people here has become a lot more conservative in the past few years, with my state flipping from our progressive to the conservative party at the election earlier this month. I'll be honest, the conservative party pushes for policies that appeal to and benefits the average person compared to progressive parties. For Kamala, the policies that she is supporting and image that she puts out for herself just is not what the average person wants. Without searching it up, what policies does she support? To me, she is proabortion, proLGBT, prodiversity, pro Israel. What does the average person worry about? Housing affordability, employment rates, grocery prices, homelessness rates, crimes rates. I haven't seen Kamala or the Democrats push on these issues at all. Online spaces have always been echo chambers, and within the Democrat party has a lot of young people, why do these people not foster an environment within the party that focus more of these 'real' issues instead of 'online' issues? If the Democrats do not focus their efforts on 'real' issues, the Republican Party might be winning a lot more elections in the years to come. 1 1

vuelve88 Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Don't underestimate the power of machismo It's still wild that Latinos voted for the party that openly trashes them. I guess they thought they were the exception. 2
