Brikenbur Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 (edited) They're not wrong. Beyoncé has had several pop-cultural, industry-defining moments. Maybe Swifties are too young and/or naïve to remember? Taylor Swift's achievements—from a consumer's point of view, seem to primarily benefit herself and her diehard fans. Like, seriously, please name a moment in pop culture (other than THE ERAS TOUR and maybe the "1989" era) that has truly been definitive and impacted pop culture? Beyoncé's career has truly shaped the industry several times over from live performances, to surprise album drops, to her style, to popular catch phrases, to her laying her personal life on the line with 2016's LEMONADE, her accolades, and let's not forget her TWO iconic SuperBowl Halftime Show. I know it's a tough pill to swallow as Swifties make it their livelihood to dissect their favs life, but Taylor just so recently started to become an extraordinary force to be reckoned with, maybe… next time? glitch Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Why are Swifties crediting Jay-Z with Beyonce's accolades. If anyone dared to say Taylor owed even a portion of her success to her dad, Max Martin, Jack Antonoff, Nathan Chapman etc they'd blow a gasket calling you a misogynist. 12 2
Noodles Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 I love good news. Love good news. I just LOVE good news! 1
Squall Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Imagine dominating on every field (albums, songs, tours) and still being #2 because you debuted a bit later yeah I hope she skips the BBMAs 3 1 1 1
queenoftheclouds Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Bey has the longer career and for a black Woman it's crazy she is in This Business so Long. Well deserved. What Taylor did in The Last 10 years is amazing too. Let's be real If she stayed country she wouldn't be that successful. She would be the best female country artists and that's it. 1 1
Hunter_13 Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 No cause everyone and their mother knows Jay-z bought the top spot. This was all timed and lines up with grammy voting periods and she's desperate to win AOTY. So why not pay BB for some manufactured list to continue the propaganda as per usual. Given the fact no one cared for that Cosplay Country album and how it's literally not charting anyway they have to cover up the hilarious flop. 1 3 1
shakeyourbombom Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 A stupid list, TS is definitely no.1 4
Badgalbriel Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Well, I think they made the right choice. Even though she's not the biggest, I do think she's the greatest. 2 1 1 1
commander Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 The copium in this thread is already hilarious ot: congratulations to Bey, she truly deserves it 5
Arrows Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 This is excellent news, we all know this will light a fire under Taylor's *ss and convince her to dominate for decades to come Congrats Bey, also well-deserved 1
ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted November 26, 2024 ATRL Moderator Posted November 26, 2024 Some people are taking this way too seriously Not surprised at all to see Beyonce at #1, I think it could have gone either way. There are strong arguments you could make for either of them and they've both had immeasurable success/impact/cultural relevance in very different ways. A perfect top 2, let's celebrate that! The full article is a really good read too. 1 1
Triton Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 All of the sudden misogyny doesn't matter when it's against justifying someone's fave not winning… 2
Lose My Breath Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Totally deserved. Her longevity and artistry alone should get her to #1 2 2
Vegvisir Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 Not surprised in the slightest. One of the hardest working girls in the industry - even if I can't stand her, I can still recognize talent! 2
Tusk Posted November 26, 2024 Posted November 26, 2024 The proof will always remain in the pudding. Facts don't lie. I'll leave it at that. 1
