Thoughts? Should he change the word? Or it's not that serious?

Wow I actually didn't know the "e-" word was a slur. Now I know

Unfortunately, this is one of those words that a LOT of people don't know isn't welcomed by indigenous folks. Even though they've been talking about for a while, indigenous voices are so silenced that it doesn't come through often. I doubt Kendrick knew that it's considered a slur.

He should be open to the critique, learn and apologize.

I swear this word is in the history books and was used by historians? Was it always never welcomed by natives or is it only recently

I googled it and it says it's an exonym.

Someone give me a source that's not twitterpedia.

Obviously good to learn but this is the least of our worries at the moment.

I feel like we need to tell The Smithsonian and have National Geographic edit many of their specials :dancehall3:

I've read about Greenlandic native history and they don't **** around with that word. They indeed see it as something as derogatory as the f or the n word

Maybe it's because the conversation is more culturally relevant in Canada but we've known not to use it for a long time now.

I always said Inuit anyway, but I didn't know that was a slur.

As a kid teachers taught us about E-words and their igloos. I wonder if they still do.
