Why did Ariana's Wicked smash while Taylor's Cats flop?

Both of these are musicals to big screen adaptations starring main pop girls. Why did Ariana smash while Taylor flopped?

because cats was a horrible film and it was only an excuse for taylor to act like an actual cat :suburban:

Also taylor barely has 6 minutes of screentime in cats :gaycat2:

Cats is genuinely one of the most horrific movies ever made, top 10 worst I've ever seen while Wicked exceeded expectations and is one of the best movies of the year.

Cats is an atrocity so bad even the furries hated it.

One was good one was bad.

I knew this would be made :bibliahh:

One looks good, the other awful. Taylor can't act and can't book a lead role like Ariana.

Would Wicked still smash if Taylor was the one playing Glinda?

The content and story of wicked was always good and the content and story of cats was always bad. You can't make a good movie out of mediocre content.

Why would Cynthia's Wicked smashed and JHud's Cats flopped.

Let's ask some of the Swifties in here that were getting a bit too brave

Wicked is the movie of the year, while Cats is... Cats.

What do you mean "Taylor's Cats" as if she produced it? It was a cameo and the song she released was beautiful. It's not taylor's problem the movie was a flop she did her part flawlessly. I fear people will blame her for CGI too, just to mess on her :deadbanana:

Love Taylor but Cats is indeed awful. Wicked's great. Ariana's really a great actress.

Wicked didn't really "smash", it's just successful.

Cats does not work as a movie like… at all. It was a really stupid idea and translating that story to film was never going to be better than the 1998 British television film.

One has Defying Gravity, the other has Bustopher Jones

Cats is hated by the broadway community, it was never gonna smash if even broadway fans don't care to see it :rip:

ATRL told me Wicked underperformed though

Not a CGI disaster for starters

Liddos really can't get over JFAD being a panned flop :deadbanana2: let's move on

OT: watch Cats and you'll know

Swifties having this rule to never talk about Cats is the answer to your question
