TipToe Posted Monday at 05:24 PM Posted Monday at 05:24 PM Don't people know what a multi- generational thing is? Most names dropped in the thread are barely crossing a single generation, pls. 1 1

They will go and book the biggest selling/streamed acts like a Taylor, Billie, Harry etc as if it automatically qualifies as an entertaining/engaging watch for the masses...and then wonder why the ratings continue to dwindle. It's a delicate balance picking great performers who are also hugely successful with music everyone is gagging over. With that, the only two acts that come to mind (besides Beyonce) are: Bruno Mars: Whenever he is ready to launch his era and Gaga: She can be a little messy live, but a) has the hits, b) is electrifying when on-it, and c) has global/cross-generational appeal. Ariana could work too. She doesn't pack "as" much of a punch as the above performance-wise but her voice is amazing, she has a huge profile (and probably the demo Netflix wants), and is a pretty solid all-rounder. Taylor Swift, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga have been around for enough time to be multi-generational. Adele can pull it off as well also given the broad appeal of her music. From older generations you have Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen who are still major draws, Madonna who keeps breaking ground as far as performances go and she's THE pioneer of live performances.... Beyoncé is fantastic but she's not the only one please, get your head out of that hole Edited Monday at 05:32 PM by Alongoria13

Beyoncé is fantastic but she's not the only please, get your head out of that hole "Been long around long enough to be multi-generational" does not necessarily mean that all of them...are lol. Some acts stay stagnant or simply have their popularity over-indexed with a particular demo...which is fine. Money, regardless of who it comes from, is green. Some fans hate the Bey praise, but she's factually an anomaly in that she all-at-once is cross-generational, cross-cultural, an epic performer, and very much at the center of what's hot. The latter being something many of the legendary acts you mentioned are...not (despite their loyal audiences). Beyond wanting a great performer, Netflix will want someone at the center of the zeitgeist, something a lot of legacy acts aren't. That said, I would love to the streamers en masse making a play for ALL the audiences. The "in" popular acts, the legends, etc. All have viable and lucrative audiences.

The GP couldn't list one hit from those girls unless it's Espresso. It would have to be a millennial artist. Edited Monday at 06:24 PM by Afterglow

Scandalous Posted Monday at 09:29 PM Posted Monday at 09:29 PM i mean Taylor is the obvious answer but eras tour is already on streaming and there's no way she's gonna put on a brand new show by next year unless she drops TS12 and centers the show around it
