Are people born wicked or do they have wickedness thrust upon them?

In my opinion, the vast majority of people are not evil per se. Everyone kinda sees themselves as the protagonist in their own head. You do things because you think they're the right thing to do, even if they may have a negative effect on others. Even people who break the law, I'm sure in their minds the law is the one that's incorrect, not them.

 

There's definitely a few exceptions, like mass murderers, serial abusers, Elon Musk etc. But I think those people are either deeply traumatised in some way or there's something wrong with the way their brain works.

 

So I guess to answer your question, a bit of both

I guess you can be born with certain kind brain chemistries that make you more likely to act "evil", like having anti-social behavior, but I think right environments it can be 100% avoided, and in the wrong environments it can be "triggered".

A lot of wicked people are probably like that due to their milieu and everything that surrounds them and i'm sure that the person's psyche is another factor, as there are kind people who were raised in a toxic environment & wicked people who were raised in a better environment.

Plus there are also some mental conditions or illnesses that can influence one's mind.

i was born wicked and have actively had to work on myself to not be wicked anymore so some ppl are definitely born with it

 

when i was 3 years old i used to escape my house with a tub of table salt and i would sit on the pavement looking for slugs and pour salt over them and watch them disintegrate and die and the neighbourhood kids saw what i was doing and nicknamed me slug boy but i loved watching them die and I got a buzz from knowing that they were in unimaginable  pain and also one time around the same age i saw a spider so i put a glass over it and i kept lifting it up so that it thought it was about to be free but actually id push the glass back down on one of its legs then twist it so i tore one of its legs off and i did that a few times each time taking a new leg and i found it fun

 

(i wouldnt do any of that now though it was kinda messed up)

nothing. 'gay' is the label that society assigns to me based on my genitals/secondary sex characteristics and my preference of sexual partners (which is very much also informed by culture and not innate). 'gay' is not an objective category, it's a made up term to make certain sexual acts and identities legible, it's not a quality of someone or something.

 

that said, yes i do identify with the term 'gay' (as well as 'queer' and 'gender nonconforming'), but sexuality/gender are purely relational, nobody is 'born gay'

 

i think it was a mistake for gay activism to push the 'born this way' narrative, it essentializes gay identity as something purely biological, which it is not. it also plays into the idea that we could potentially find 'the gay gene' one day and get rid of it through genetic engineering, which is in my view a version of gay genocide. it shouldn't matter whether gayness is a choice or whether it's innate (which is a dichotomy i reject), being gay is okay even if it was purely a question of conscious decision.

The notion of good/evil is a construct of society, and it can change from one culture to another. In a way it was made as a way to not harm and protect ourselves. But if you see those concepts in real life, they tend to be debatable.

 

I would say we are born wild. We developed as a species to survive in this world (even if that means to attack, steal or even kill). You can judge that as "evil", but it's part of human nature. But as you grow up and get "educated", you set yourself apart from that state. 

 

But I also think we develop and form our own behaviour within our context. So what happened around us also changes our perspective and how we behave (Even if that makes you good or makes you wicked)
