SoldierofLove Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 (edited) Imagine being offered role after role without lifting a finger since your debut film I thought she would reveal she's been working on her own music but sounds like it's just for Freaky Friday 2 She also reunited with Lacey Chabert Edited November 23, 2024 by SoldierofLove 3
Cheers Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 (edited) Quote She wanted a role in The Avengers, she explains, but her manager didn't push for her and they "went with an unknown" for the part. "If I don't work in a film, he passes it to Vanessa Hudgens; he passes it one of his other clients. ... Every day I'm not on a film set, I'm wasting my talent because that's what I was born - and live - to do." "Someone asked me to audition once — it was Oliver Stone for Savages, and I met with him and they wanted me to read, and I said, 'I'm really, really bad at this, and I'm going to forget everything the second I start, so I might just ad-lib it.' And he was like, 'You were great.' And I was like, 'OK.' It was such a weird experience." According to Freaky Friday director Mark Waters, Lohan might have proven this to him by auditioning for the film. The filmmaker recalled being unimpressed by Lohan at the time, but he hired her anyway because of her other qualities. "Lindsay's audition was probably the worst of the five. However, we also agreed she was a star. She had this amazing turbulence and energy which we thought was going to be really interesting for the character," La Loca Lohan is still a liar I see. We also know she auditioned for Lizzie McGuire. Edited November 23, 2024 by Cheers 7
prettyinpink940 Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 I definitely recall Tina Fey talking about Lindsay originally auditoning for Regina. 1

JustHoran Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 I would have believed this but she literally auditioned for Mean Girls I think
popmusicisdead Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 maybe for such cinematic masterpieces like I Know Who Killed Me and Scary Movie 5 3

I think she meant in the sense of auditioning without being invited to. So ever since Parent Trap, she was ASKED to come in and read for a role. 1 1
bleuwaffle Posted November 23, 2024 Posted November 23, 2024 Love loveeee Lindsay but she's a notorious liar

She doesn't say she auditioned for Avengers, her name was (allegedly) considered for a role and she was upset her agent didn't "fight enough" for it? And the second quote literally corroborates her story and you didn't include the rest of it she literally starts by saying: On if she auditions for anything: "I only auditioned for 'The Parent Trap.' I would be terrified to audition. I don't even know what it would be like. I think I would freeze. My agent asked me to read for something, and I was like, "I can't." I would panic. It's such a different experience. I don't think I could do it. Someone asked me to audition once — it was Oliver Stone for 'Savages,' and I met with him and they wanted me to read, and I said, 'I'm really, really bad at this, and I'm going to forget everything the second I start, so I might just ad-lib it.' Lindsay literally quit the Bette TV series around the exact same time after filming the pilot because production moved from New York to Los Angeles and she/her family didn't want to do that so, yeah. you don't know **** unless an audition tape leaks as it's doubtful she'd try out for something she wouldn't want / be able to do. people in the industry just love to throw the names of all the hot actresses from a certain time who were in the same age range saying they were up for it to make a role seem more coveted in retrospect. 11 hours ago, prettyinpink940 said: I definitely recall Tina Fey talking about Lindsay originally auditoning for Regina. Lindsay never auditioned for Mean Girls, the movie literally only happened because she was interested in the script after the producers wanted her post-Freaky Friday. She originally wanted to play Regina, but then the producers couldn't find a strong match to play Cady against her Regina, and since studio execs/her team were also afraid her playing a b*tch role would alienate her Disney/teen fanbase + Cady was the actual lead role of the film, she agreed. this in depth book about the making of the film is a great read and explains it all if anyone's bored and interested: https://www.harpercollins.com/products/so-fetch-jennifer-keishin-armstrong?variant=41072641802274 y'all gotta understand people in the press might throw a word around once for something because it makes for an easier explanation or some stories might pop up but it doesn't mean that's how things went down if you actually dig deeper into other interviews to find out what truly happened. (and of course people here using this as a gotcha to bring up her struggles with addiction, how nice. ATRL will warn you for making a fat joke but mocking an actual disease/this is totally fine ) Edited November 23, 2024 by okgo 2
