XXI. Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago When you compare where KATSEYE is at in terms of choreography and stage presence to where other modern mainstream groups like Fifth Harmony or Little Mix were at this point in their careers, it's pretty mind-blowing. The fact that they've only been together for a year makes their growth even more impressive. They just keep getting better and better... 1
Taylena Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago This is like comparing apples to oranges. Neither Fifth Harmony nor Little Mix underwent the same level of training or faced the same performing demands when they formed their groups. KATSEYE is fundamentally a kpop group that underwent a rigorous training process, albeit shorter than that of a traditional kpop group, but they are still expected to perform at a superior level. 1
Nightingale Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago They definitely have star potential. I was doubtful of the whole "global" girl group idea but seeing their performances and interviews/personalities, and already scoring a hit definitely makes me thing they can continue growing
Kh-Loud Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Can they sing and harmonize? If not they're low key useless as a GG.

Odette Violet Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Blackpink and aespa I see Katseye filling the gap PCD left in the mainstream pop
babycomeround Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I need them to do an acapella WITH harmonies and then we'll see. K-Pop is rooted in visuals and choreography with less focus on singing.
PoisonPill Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I'm seeing cheerleader outfits, out-of-sync lip syncing and dated choreography... what am I missing? Edited 1 hour ago by PoisonPill 1
GloryDays Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The way LM and 5H were trained is way different to what KATSEYE did. I hope the KATSEYE girlies keep getting better
J Legend X Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago technically they trained for 2 years and I'm sorry but as much as I love them, the only one with a distinctive voice is Lara, the rest are giving singing 1 on 1 ! I need them to shine a bit more individually

I see the similarities in that both groups were formed on reality TV shows, but you're right— the expectations around their training and development were different. While I did link to a specific performance, I'm also talking about the music itself. Touch and Debut are such strong tracks compared to the earlier work of Fifth Harmony and Little Mix. All of these groups were also very similar in age when they were grouped together. 26 minutes ago, PoisonPill said: I'm seeing cheerleader outfits, out-of-sync lip syncing and dated choreography... what am I missing? This is one of their first ever live performances... They've only done a handful, and their output is insane. 2 hours ago, Odette Violet said: Blackpink and aespa I see Katseye filling the gap PCD left in the mainstream pop I'm very new to K-Pop. Katseye have been my introduction to this world of music, and I've been really loving discovering so many new artists. Are Blackpink and aespa as young as Katseye? I think that's another reason I'm so impressed with them. They are all quite young. Edited 1 hour ago by XXI.
Gorjesspazze9 Posted 57 minutes ago Posted 57 minutes ago This is pretty typical for kpop. The girlies are talented tho

That said you should definitely get into more Kpop or even asian pop music in general, there are a lot of talented asian artists and pop groups out there. this site can be dismissive and had history of ignorance towards artists that are outside of anglosphere and aren't white
commander Posted 29 minutes ago Posted 29 minutes ago (edited) the way I'm rooting hard for this group though. I hope Lara becomes the leader over time. Her charisma is truly unmatched. Edited 29 minutes ago by commander
