i really hope she can get in :duca: i was hoping for Selena too but it seems like her hype is fading. deadwyler should get in there tho

An Oscar nom for acting would be an amazing accomplishment for her! Not everyone has that, no matter how hard they try! :clap3:

Honestly the more reactions that come out I genuinely think she can win. Zoe likely has a better shot because she's an acting veteran but Ariana will 100% get nominated with this role.

I wouldn't rule Selena out just yet. Zoe Saldana is way ahead of her but the Emilia Perez ladies are campaigning the hardest and Selena has quite the industry support behind her. She even had Meryl Steep host a screening of the movie and Q&A last night.

I agree that it would be fun if both got in.

Crazy how online everyone was about this movie earlier in the year. "It's gonna flop because she's a homewrecker and people hate her" :deadbanana2: My how have the tides have changed

Doubted her at first but just saw the film and I'm super convinced. She did the character and legacy justice and more.

Honestly it's been cool seeing Ariana and Selena names both popping up during award season. Like I'm sure nobody honestly thought in 2010 that Cat Valentine and Alex Russo would be up for possible Oscar nominations.

Also shout out a og Disney legend Brenda Song for also being on this list even if hers is a complete long shot.
