Imogen Heap's Headlock going viral on TikTok, nearly 1M plays on Spotify

Imogen Heap's excellent 2006 single Headlock is currently having a big moment on TikTok, with some people referring to it as a 'great little white girl motivation bop', and this has consequently led to a huge rise in its streams on Spotify. Before October, the song was earning less than 20,000 streams a day, compared to nearly a million a day now, and it's still growing.

 

Trajectory:

 

22 October: 442,938 streams

29 October: 571,086 streams

5 November: 677,636 streams

12 November: 872,143 streams

19 November: 967,423 streams

 

Of the song's 40 million streams, more than 20 million have been earned in the past month. It is currently charting on several Spotify charts, including the UK (#134), the US (#142), and Ireland (#192). It is one of the two songs she has charting globally, the other being a remix of I'm God.

A New Kind of Love from the 20th anniversary Details EP is also kind of having a moment on TikTok. It has been steadily rising in streams, earning over 350,000 streams yesterday compared to half that amount 6 months ago and a third of that at this point last year.
