Seeyuh Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 other genres can learn a thing about gatekeeping from country. they dont **** around with phoneys 13 1 2
Helix Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 (edited) Just because you were the most successful artist doesn't mean you had the best song and deserved an award The Grammys and stans in general should take some notes, it should not always be about numbers (and Post delivered some terrible generic country music anyway) Edited November 21, 2024 by Helix 8
Draper. Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 How is one of the longest running #1s of history not the "single of the year", specially when there's other category for the song itself? What Beyoncé said… 7 2
Green Posted November 21, 2024 Author Posted November 21, 2024 This is why I wouldn't be surprised if/when Chris Stapleton wins Best Country Album against Cowboy Carter at the Grammys. 3

What Beyoncé said… Its still #1 thanks to endless gigantic radio payola and radio refusing to let it go. Its not some type of Old Town Road case in here. Old Town Road was barely played on the radio + it was dropped really quickly after it peaked on overall radio. Lil Nas X's streams made him last that long on Hot100. Totally different cases. ABS isnt as big as Old Town Road. The song barely top20 on spotify and on apple music but its still #1 thanks to radio payola. 4 7
OrgVisual Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Country music awards are all about politics and industry connections. There's no surprise that people that are not part of the circle like Post, Shaboozey and Bey got nothing 1
Polgg48 Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 nnnnnnnnnnnn Megan won against all men, there is justice in the world Lainey I see you too 1
kellebrity98 Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 did Kelsea get anything or they forgot about her again?

And Lil Nas X did not get a nomination for Single of the Year at the CMA Awards. You can go around all you want, but these people are gatekeeping the genre not from "phoneys" as someone suggested but from black people. 1 6
Princess Aurora Posted November 21, 2024 Posted November 21, 2024 Oh wow. Imagine having the biggest hit of the year and getting nothing in return

ABS feels like radio fodder with its shameless payola. As a person who against shameless radio payola, i'm actually happy ABS didnt win anything. He's also giving one hit wonder vibes so its no surprise he'll also ignored by grammys. No need to waste these awards on one hit wonders. LNX was at least able to release many hit singles after his record. 1

Spotify is not the only streaming platform, country music is huge on amazon music for example 4

Just move on.

But at least Lil Nas won a CMA for Musical Event of the Year which it's impressive considering that country radio didn't support Old Town Road

They're just LNX and Lady Gaga haters.

Yes, country might consider post Shabozy and beyonce as gimmick attempts. there goes that country support for AOTY.

Same with A Bar Song too, it's actually good and should've won Event, Single and Song. Edited November 21, 2024 by Draper.

All trash radio crossover fodders. Shaboozey already back in the studio releasing different versions of ABS to score a hit but noone seems to care.
