Timber Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago We got into a heated argument about it. I said I would go by myself to watch it, but she didn't seem happy with that. She said I would be supporting a home-wrecker. I said I'm not really watching it for Ariana, I just want to watch a good musical. She claimed it's immoral for me to give money to Ariana, and I said at this point she's so rich, it doesn't even matter if I go or not…it would be immoral to not watch a movie for one person when there's an entire production team that has nothing to do with that. Somehow she brought up comparisons to supporting Starbucks and Walmart for being anti-Palestine. I don't remember the connection but I clocked her because she went to Starbucks like 4 times during the protest I went 0 times. She doesn't like to get clocked, so she just left and it looks like she won't talk to me for days…which sucks cuz we just moved in together 2 weeks ago (just us 2). This is our 1st argument since the move. Anyway, can someone enlighten me about Ariana. Sister only told me that she took a married woman's man away. What are some details about this that I should know to form a more informed opinion about this… 10 1
Raphy23 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Don't talk to her back. Does she have personal experiences with a home wrecker? Because if not, she's being a bit extreme.
LustSpell Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Respectfully, she sounds insufferable and emotionally immature. The prime definition of Twitter liberal and/or terminally online. These are people you do not win against. They will always move the goalpost. Your best goal is just to ignore the situation and continue on with your life. Edited 4 hours ago by LustSpell 5

What are some details about this that I should know to form a more informed opinion about this… The main thing you should know is that we don't actually know timelines on the associated events, we don't know the inner workings of these people's lives, and all we have to go on is tabloid speculation from gossip rags with a vested interest in keeping the storyline dramatic and keeping the clicks coming. It's ultimately not possible for us to know if anything that technically constitutes cheating or "home-wrecking" on anyone's part occurred. We know she and her now-boyfriend were both married when they met, we know they both separated and divorced, we know that at some point they began dating - but, crucially, we do not know whether any of those various stages overlapped or to what extent. We don't know whether both of the original couples were already having trouble, we don't know anything. We all have to remember that these people are strangers to us - not friends, not acquaintances, not people who live down the street, but complete strangers. I don't think it's particularly useful for anyone to make hard judgments about another's character for wanting to see a movie that Ariana stars in for something that may or may not have occurred in her personal life without us ever actually being able to truly know. But also, unless Ariana's contract stipulates that she gets a percentage of the gross/profit of the movie… she already got paid. From what I understand, it's a relatively rare event for an actor to get that kind of deal, and we have no indication she has one, so she probably already has her paycheck. Like, it literally does not matter if you go see it; you're not contributing to her paycheck whatsoever. At a push, you're contributing a scrap of a few cents from your ticket to the production team, while most of it goes to your local theater or its parent chain. Even if Ariana has such a contract, your personal contribution to her paycheck will probably be a fraction of a cent. Respectfully, of course - your sister seems a little bit misinformed on multiple levels. 1 1

Jude Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If you're already an adult, you don't need other people tell you what to do. You're not commiting a crime ffs.
TROPICUM Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago it's a movie. about a musical. about fanfic of the wizard of oz. but it's "immoral " (??) for you to watch said movie (even though you want to) because twitter and tiktok said the supporting actress maybe, possibly, not-so likely had an affair with an already divorced co-star. and your sister treats you not going as an act of activism for… gossip trash magazines? 1 2

Carla Rosón Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago clock her again by explaining how the term "homwrecker" is yet another sexist construct to justify men's adultery while placing all the blame on women. 1
Vespertine Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago No offense but your sister sounds like a loser in desperate need of a job or a hobby or a dog or something
