Wonder what took so long

And for that matter it's crazy how Bluesky has had so much time to get even the most basic of features out like drafts but are still MIA…

Bluesky has like 20 employees lol let them work in peace

discovering that there's a atrl account on bluesky full of terrible threads that have been bridged over automatically, but it seems to have packed up about 2 months ago

Bluesky is giving lib echo chamber with the massive amount of reports already happening there over usage of certain words :rip:

also they deplatform/censor pro palestine accounts so a big red flag as usual :rip:

and the fact that some conservative trolls are already moving in as well lol :rip:

BSky doesn't use a forced algorithm, users can use algorithms though so there's no deplatforming. I'm still learning the ins and outs of the app myself.

Here's an explanation on it:

On top of enabling nazis, even Stan Twitter is unusable now because literally every tweet gets populated by bots and shitty ass replies get boosted to the top simply by having blue checkmark.

Musk ruined that app beyond repair. Need Taylor to migrate there too.

Threads has active users?

in my country (in Southeast Asia) all the teenagers have flocked to Threads because the adults have no idea what that thing is :zsgaymuscat:

They don't, actually. This narrative arose because a bunch of people said they "don't see any Palestinians promoting their GoFundMe campaigns on the timeline", not realizing that the Palestinians in question either don't know about Bluesky or aren't in a rush to abandon their established platforms.

Dont like it. Feels like Maga twitter but in reverse with the extremists . Turning into another echo chamber. lol
But to be fair is perfect for all the members of the civics :giraffe:

I want twitter of the past without any political stuff. Only the fun and no bots and political influencers+

Threads seems too sensitive

BlueSky has a good UI and feels a bit pre-Elon Twitter, which is what more people want

I'm on it last couple days, I'm glad the algorithm is only showing games and art so far on my feed which are things I  like and when I want political news I can search for it, not have to deal with ragebaits like x.

They've brought back 2018 Twitter.

I saw multiple people on Twitter say that Bluesky is full of "Ruthkanda forever"-type libs, and I don't know if I want to risk subjecting myself to that :skull:

Most things I seem to see being said about bluesky don't relate to my experience of it or are simply not true. If you want to find loons saying something dumb, you can go to *checks notes* literally any social media platform you want, because that is where loons saying something dumb hang out. It is not an exception.

There's lots of pro Palestinian content on there, tho why that would be a reason for staying on twitter anyway, where the free speech is legendary as long as yr not p*ssing the not at all touchy Elon off, idk.

What it is is full of people saying "we do things a little differently around here!"or trying to police new users into etiquette rules that never existed but I suspect they'll be disappointed, the history of bluesky is basically people saying bang goes the neighbourhood every time three more people join, they keep joining anyway.

it functions best if you know a few people, yr not directed twds any content so you have to find yr own spaces. In the end it makes it like old forums: you talk to people rather than consume passively so much, tho with the arrival of big accounts I expect that's changing already.

it's as much of a lib echo chamber as you want it to be (no one is forcing you to follow political accounts) but if yr desperate for a bunch of right wingers screaming insults I would have yr head checked tho.

it is calmer than twitter has been for a long time - the people i see there who really don't enjoy it are the people who like dunking all the time or who seem to thrive off of the deranged energy that twitter generates (or at least did before it was flooded with bots and paid for clout).

i expect that will change with more people there, whether people think that's good or bad idk, i can imagine that people who spend a lot of time here (the home of calm and measured discourse) would like it more deranged rather than less

I would not trust the people staying on twitter to tell me what bluesky is like any more than I would trust my sour neighbours who were not going to the party to tell me if it was a good one

Plus, lib echo chamber is a relative term, all the left accounts have been at each others throats from day 1

It's only an 'echo chamber' when minorities try to create a safe space for themselves and refuse to put up with biggotry, no one uses that to describe a chud who never interacted with a trans person but still spouts ****.

well exactly, the trrans people were the first people to go to bluesky and a lot of the stuff (esp in the press) i've been seeing recently seems to be coming from people turning up spouting terf talking points and finding themselves on the end of bluesky's legendarily hard block.

The flaw with the "echo chamber" argument is that it assumes everybody uses social media to argue about politics. Some of us just want to look at art and discuss music in peace.

That's impossible if you have an aggressive algorithm ignoring your preferences to shove the most inflammatory rage bait in your face every time you log in.

I'm enjoying BlueSky thus far.

I stay away from political topics and it works for me. :michael:

Wait so after 2 years of complaints about X becoming a playground for the alt-right, the gays are now complaining that Bluesky is too liberal? Well ***** just don't go on social media at all. :deadbanana4:  I swear sometimes people just want something to complain about. I have barely seen any political posts since using it - and while I liked the Threads algorithm better, I am enjoying seeing some c*ck and bussy posts every now and then.
