Broken Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago The timing In July, Bloomberg aptly underscored how minimally competitive Apple TV+ is, writing: "Apple TV+ generates less viewing in one month than Netflix does in one day." Damn 2

Not so much, Apple's shows has the same visual formula, which is tiring after watching a few. The original contents are far and few between, no catalog contents to keep people subscribe. Apple should stop chasing the same visual formula and actually diversify their contents. Highkey this is a big issue with TV in general now. No unique visual identities. They all look like they in the same meh universe. 4 minutes ago, Vespertine said: I'm shocked Paramount+ even has 1.2% What do people watch on there? I never see anything worth watching and always deactivate as soon as Drag Race is over Paramount Plus - full list of movies and TV shows online They actually have a good catalog, especially for film. Yellowstone is one of the biggest shows on TV, along with any other Taylor Sheridan show, which is all home to Paramount+.
Shinkirou Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Not enough content, not enough variety and no legacy classic shows. A couple of scripted episodes of some drama shows a week aren't enough to keep people subscribed. Not when you have something like Netflix releasing entire seasons of dramas, comedies, animation for kids, animation for adults, nature documentaries, true crime documentaries, reality shows... And on top of that if you look at the weekly Nielsen charts, a good 50% of what people stream are legacy shows: Friends, The Office, The Simpsons, Family Guy, SpongeBob... and of course Apple has none of that in their library. 2

APTV+ should be the streamer to save all the classic shows that have no streaming home as of yet. There's more than people think. They should chill on their 50 miniseries nobody remembers a year and invest that money into the rights of those shows. Remaster them and put them up it'll draw more fanfare. stoopidjenna Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I feel like whenever I go to Apple TV, 95% of the content on the homepage is the same. I don't know if it's because their back catalog is too small or maybe their algorithm just sucks at suggesting new things (or maybe both), but I rarely check it now unless I hear of a new premiere I'm interested elsewhere.
Achilles. Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Not enough content in general, not nearly enough slop for the basics, low priority streamer for people already paying for too many, weak promo… basically everything that's been said in this thread already put together. I am pretty shocked that the figure is so low despite them basically giving free trials to anyone who buys any Apple device. People are really not interested in what they're producing I guess.
shoganai Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Too little and too late. They should have made it free for Apple's users at least at the beginning
Blue. Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago They have little content and dragging schedules, so for example I just wait for a couple shows to pile up and then subscribe for a month and binge through it.
Wicked Posted 12 hours ago Author Posted 12 hours ago Well Apple has hired an executive to license its original productions to other companies, a strategy designed to increase sales from its film business and improve the visibility of its content. Maria Ines Rodriguez, who previously worked at Disney and Comcast Corp.'s NBCUniversal, joined Apple earlier this year to work on content distribution. In a job posting from earlier this year, Apple said it's looking for someone to "develop and implement a global strategy to enhance revenue for Apple TV+'s award winning original content off-Apple platforms." Apple is focused on licensing its movies to other companies, such as foreign TV networks and stores, where viewers can rent or buy them, according to a person familiar with the plans. The company isn't planning to license its original TV shows to third parties. (At least not yet.) Paramount Boss on Gladiator II, Scary Sequels and Wicked Showdown - Bloomberg
