the streaming era made the charts so boring during november & december

every chart watcher i know thinks the same.. maybe one day holiday songs won't be allowed to chart on the hot 100

She could in theory tie the record of 19 weeks this year. If Brenda Lee doesn't knock her out a week or two

she already has 14, plus one in Nov and 4 in December, oh if she scores the last week in January than just maybe…

she literally just needs 5 more weeks, which is possible to happen as early as this year if RATCT (or any other songs) doesn't block

Sorry, but you would have to block every recurring song then. The chart is based on consumption now and if a holiday song or a old song that has been used in a tv show is the most consumed it will be #1 :rogue:

I can imagine they will change the rules somewhat because labels may wine about their artists missing out a few spots during november/december...

for a long time holiday songs were not allowed to chart on the hot 100 and had their own separate chart, so billboard could bring that rule back anytime

i think billboard they will eventually do it because at this rate most of the hot 100 records will be broken by a bunch of christmas songs and i don't think billboard would want that

Christmas songs weren't pulling these numbers in the physical and digital eras so it's incomparable.

If the streaming charts are dominated by Christmas songs then that should be reflected in the charts whether we like it or not.

On the contrary, I'm keen for Christmas music to change things up.

The top 10s been basically the same for months and the Bar Song would otherwise just be no.1 for like 30 weeks, which just shows how stagnant the charts are getting...
