The Grammys do not and have never had anything to do with quality

 

And, as should go with saying, neither do chart positions. Charli got a proper marketing budget this time around. That's it.

 

This is, of course, to say nothing of your claim that brat is "one of the biggest eras of the past 5 years" which would have been dubious at best even if several of Charli's supposed commercial achievements this era weren't currently under scrutiny

It's not even among the top ones this year, let alone past 5  not in singles, not in album sales, not in streams, not in touring, acclaim even debatable considering how many widespread critically revered albums we had on the early 2020s. Maybe on instagram captions (when the term at this point is completely unrelated with the music).
