DESERVED!

One of the best IASF singles, overshadowed by dual-single-sister Halo but now having its own moment!

Also I want to reiterate how important a move this was in 2008 for a popstar at the peak of her pop-adult-contemporary bag to put out a hip-hop single like THIS. It's nearly a full rap track, and certainly the most rap-inspired pop single that any popstar put out in the 2000s, even through a huge wave of Hip-Hop blended with pop dominance through collabs. No other pop girls were doing it like this at that time, making their own solo hip-hop tracks without features and fully sold/performed by their own rap-singing skills. It certainly paved a way forward for the rap-sung era of the 2010s where many stars would take on that styling including Ariana, Miley, Little Mix, etc. etc.

Let's keep in mind that the song still went top 10 on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts as well as critics saying it was the sister to 'A Milli' by Lil Wayne. Beyonce was able to keep her grip on both the adult contemporary market as well as the urban markets at the same time. :clap3:
