It's funny how ATRL has been complaining for years about the decline of traditional promo slots (MPGs not wanting to go all out with award show performances, late night shows, music videos, etc.), but once Beyoncé puts on a performance with a full budget and successful execution, they wanna act like their favs have done anything comparable this decade.

Yeah, judging from those clips too I agree. I'm just surprised she wasn't as fastidious as she usually is (because as much as Bey is an incredible performer, the lady wisely lips certain pre-recorded segments and has done so for a while, only she got so good at it at some point you just couldn't tell at all whether she was lipping or not). Either way, lipped or not she's an incredible performer, it was a good performance, and there's no reason why this thread should go the way it has. And as much as I love Bey I remember how some of the hive members joined in with other fanbases on this site to **** on and be horrible to a pregnant Rih during the Superbowl and there's something oddly karmic about this. Siding with the little monsters and Swifties then only for them to be this ugly to Bey now is just something else.

Back to the performance... wow I keep replaying it and it just gets better and better every time.

 

Btw it's still available on Netflix (for anyone outside the US) for another 6 hours (as part of the full game).

 

Can we also appreciate how despite so many people being involved in the performance, not a single thing about it leaked! Impressive.

1. i enjoyed the performance more on the 2nd watch, but the music just doesn't click for me. can't wait for the tour/act 3

Nah..the album is not for you. But a black person..it absolutely resonates with me and even more with the performance which was deeply rooted in southern texan black culture. Renaissance is excellent but it appeals mostly to the poppers community.
