"Beyoncé Bowl" performance at NFL Halftime Show on Xmas

I watched this back again and it somehow turned into a more legendary show, possibly better than her first Halftime Show. I need to rewatch that one but I really think it is.

it's genuinely disheartening and scary with all the collective hate on here and FB from what i have seen about every single Beyonce post. is it partially because of the Jay Z thing and partially because of the Country thing? I'm so confused. What the hell did she do to deserve this? She worked hard for that half time and this is what she gets?

You just have to ignore it. She's also turning haters into fans. I'm seeing a loottt of people that didn't like her before switch sides completely after this performance lol. Trust, this gained her a WHOLE breed of entirely new fans. That World Tour is gonna be SO hard to get tickets for. I feel even harder than Renaissance! :deadbanana2:

Maa even here, some navy members are posting negative things about Beyoncé each time they can, there's just few of them, the Neferti username who made hateful threads during Renaissance and always lurk until he has something negative to post, Katara or whatever who will post the most abject things about her, he's focused on Dua lately therefore has bigger enemies I suppose, the Rihbestfriend member, the Jonas member who will also drag Blue, the Isodora whatever member, the Onlymanintheworld who finally fully transitioned as a Swifties because she has the biggest numbers now, the one in this very thread who came dragging when he put "NO I won't watch it" and has been liking every Swifties' post in this very thread and others, the idiot with a cat avie (Kaylah or whatever) who drags Beyoncé every time and Hive thinks he's a Swiftie because he uses Taylor to drag Bey and I have plenty others examples. They're just not as many of them here as other fanbases and the most popular ones are not much into stanwars. And some of them are fan of both, just like some Hive.

And it's OK, Beyoncé has that affect on most stanbases, the navy is absolutely no different.

Yeah it's ok cause atp it just gives desperation. It's all misogyny at the end of the day, cause she gives them NOTHING to hate. I doubt even Michael received this much vitriol when he was unproblematic. I think Beyoncé is facing a different kind of critique than Michael did. She's a superstar in the generation of self-depreciation. People who refuse to see the value in themselves and when they see others without that same behavior they feel they have to "humble" them. On top of that she's one of the most powerful artists to ever grace the music industry. She's up there with Michael and Madonna on those terms. While Michael was a superstar during the rough and gritty tabloids where the tabloids were the ones that sought out stirring the pot and bringing these celebrities down. They got PAID to be as slimy as possible.

It's safe to say Beyonce is really close to that level of polarization, or is already there but she's managing it by being reclusive. Regardless, people WILL be tuned in. And people will pay oodles amount of money just to see her, hear her, or be part of the conversation just so they can "prove" their asinine points. It's more sad watching this behavior than seeing Beyoncé receive it. They're just robbing themselves the joy of experiencing her. :deadbanana2:

It's kind of easy to ignore that echo chamber of racists and misogynists, the hate really started around 2013 with her feminist backdrop. The internet in general has been a cesspool ever since Trump gave them a platform. I look at the biggest female artist of all time Madonna who has been getting criticism for 40+ years and to this day she still receives hate. In the end, they will switch like ******* when they're gone like they did with MJ and Whitney. It's a recency bias thing, if she had retired a decade ago they would be singing praises.:coffee2:

So, again, barely any actual navy members go after Bey on this site? Most navy members who used to be on here either moved on from Rih to other music acts during her long hiatus and/or left this site completely. Even by the time Rih was taking a hiatus around 2016/2017 most hive and navy members (specifically on this site, won't talk about other places) got more or less along and the fights that would happen on other platforms amongst those two bases wasn't happening here. Perhaps it is true that the hive is way more active and has lots more members on here so that the minority who are obsessed and constantly go after Rih (like that one member called beyonecititis or whatever) are more prominent, but on the whole the majority of the navy members on here not only like Bey but routinely defend her as well (especially when attacks on her veer towards racist micro and macro aggressions), even when the hive doesn't do the same and if anything join in with the same bases that have been dragging Bey consistently now, to drag Rih. So, the narrative that the navy on this site virulently hate Beyoncé is just not true at all. I haven't seen navy members drag Bey the way I have other bases, one or two members notwithstanding.

The performance was fantastic, she sounded amazing (as always) and I really enjoyed how great the show was visually.

My only wish was that she had danced more, but I guess since she had that foot injury she can't dance as much.

Her performances are always top notch and the choreography is always on point. However, there is something missing; it is like the audience is always in awe of her, but she is not connecting with them. I felt the same watching the RWT last year.

Every single step is so methodical such that she seems detached. I don't know, I think of her main inspiration as a performer, Tina Turner, and how despite that she sang and danced her ass off, she was always connected to the audience.

Spoiler

I never said virulently but your perspective is biased and one sided because you don't visit all Bey's threads. And yes, my conclusion was also that for the most part, you are low-key and the fans overlap. But you can very easily name Hive members who hate and attack your fave and I can give you 10 navy members who do the same, like the guy who just said last week that Blue dresses like a ***** when her dad is a rapist. Or Kayliah who says Bey can only twerk as a black woman and Katara who wil call her monkey and throw race and micro agression at her while staning a black woman themselves.  We don't take issues with that. We don't expect everyone from your base to like our fave. We didn't sign a contract.

There are also navy members who love Bey and will defend her just like there are plenty of Hive members who love your fave and defend her : Devin, Lovett, Brandy to name a few. She is even routinely posted in our base. There are countless of them and I have seen plenty of them defending her and praising her SB performance. That you do not care to see. That was the essence of my post. There are rotten apples on each side. And to be honest every stanbase on Atrl has vocal Bey's, Gaga's and Taylor's haters.

OT : Great performance.

The performance was more of the same from her, she keeps recycling the same ideas and concepts. It's as if she depends on her army of dancers like she depends on her army of songwriters, yet none of it seems to be connecting with the general public.

Well it's very unfortunate that those incidents, especially the racist and Blue one which are very disgusting and shameful to read, happened. Though "there's no contract" and of course valid criticism of whichever artist should happen, most of the people on both sides are grown by now (not that not being mature should be a reason to act disgustingly) and should know better than to say such things, and that they do speaks volumes of who they are. I don't particularly care for stanning in ways I did in the past, and I too have gone back and forth in that way years back and should be careful not to be hypocritical, but I think it's a sign of maturity to be able to appreciate several artists without feeling the need to have constant rivalry between artists or fans of those artists/fight over petty things for the sake of fighting or out of unreasonable hatred for an individual. But I agree, you're probably right and that I pay more attention to Rih related threads and posts on here than I do Bey's, and that might warp my experience of stanning currently and how other navy members might be reacting towards Bey (although I haven't seen that in this particular thread).

Not connecting to the public, yet they're raving about how amazing it was all over social media.

That "more of the same" from Beyoncé is amazing talent and quality that your fave has never ever served in her entire career. Which is why you're always so damned pressed over Beyoncé. :toofunny3:

I am screaming at some of the girls trying it.

How can anyone have a Sabrina Carpenter avi and come for a Beyonce performance?

Rihanna fans? Taylor? And a bunch of other basic beckies?

I actually like most of the acts above, but you know stan wars has gone wild when acts who profess their love for Bey have stans that literally break a heel trying to drag her. The same person their fave praises constantly and admits to being inspired by lol.

I maintain the haters don't hate what Bey does on stage. If anything, they are in awe of it. They hate the universal adulation and acclaim she gets each and every time. It's the very thing they want for their faves. But because Bey's secret sauce is literally a mix of raw talent, dedication, and effort that most either don't want to or don't have to put in, it bothers them that the scale of praise and wonderment she gets for going above and beyond. The level of love she gets for going above and beyond is not something their fave can get with marketing or hype or "relatability". And it bothers them. Almost on some "how dare she be so good" tip.

It's weird af, but it is what it is. Us BeyHive are used to it at this point.

Payola's articles are one thing, but the stream numbers tell the truth.

people just aren't interested.

even Gaga was able to get Million Reasons to go #3 after her halftime show performance, yet no songs from Cowboy Carter are even charting on Spotify.

Who said anything about articles? :rip: And what does Gaga's Super Bowl halftime performance have to do with this? :deadbanana2: ATRL's obsession with Spotify will never fail to make me cackle. So damn stupid.

You wish ATRL would value quick #1s that disappear into oblivion, wouldn't you

No, because I don't put sole value into chart performance and certainly not on one single streaming service. That reeks of insecurity.

Still not sure what Cowboy Carter streams have to do with the NFL Christmas halftime show and why you're all indulging this Gaga fan dupe instead of reporting for off topic trolling and moving on.

Nah..the album is not for you. But a black person..it absolutely resonates with me and even more with the performance which was deeply rooted in southern texan black culture. Renaissance is excellent but it appeals mostly to the poppers community.

Well good 4 u.

im in the popper community.

I think she added in some additional shots of the band and dancers too which was nice. The camera angle changes are most noticeable in Texas I think. But yes all the tweaks are for the better! :jonny:
