Well she had Miley's performance and probably Lady Gaga's Paparazzi if she watched at age 6 or 7 and then Beyoncé's Love On Top. So she had some iconic performances but her naming the LEAST iconic ones that no one remembers or knows is funny tho.

Oh so that's why she keeps releasing horrible music even tho she serves a Britney like image. I get the dissonance now. Britney wasn't successful just because she had a sexy image and could dance, she also always released really good catchy pop songs. Now I know she doesn't get that :coffee2:

This is obviously not shade but the way she said I didn't grow up on Britney/Xtina but more the REVIVAL cover art reveal took me out :deadbanana2:

Isn't her whole aesthetic Britney coded? Why does she feel the need to attack her like that

now tell this to the millennials cause they won't understand

Well, Millennials didn't grow up when Madonna or Janet were smashing in the 80s either and yet they still appreciate them and are fans. Tate not growing up with Britney doesn't mean she wasn't influenced by her later. I didn't experience Madonna or Michael Jackson's peak eras but I know every song from Thriller or Bad.

She's heavily influenced by Britney and it's a shame she didn't add that in that interview.

I don't think that was meant to be shade.

It wasn't, but you know the Millennial gays are gonna feel some kind of way because we've officially hit that era where the new pop girls are the same age as Stripped and ITZ:eli:

People hate feeling old and decrepit.

Nothing wrong with this lol ATRL is in denial that the millennial pop girls no longer run things.

All you old hags are weird as ****. I would just love to know what you would be saying if you were all born in 2003 too. She was just telling you what SHE grew up on, it's not her fault she wasn't born in the 90s, jesus christ.

Clocked. Like obviously us 2000s babies are gonna quote pop culture moments from the 2010s because that's literally what we grew up on:rip:

The cycle repeats itself. Britney was always compared to Madonna "she'll NEVER be Madonna" and it sort of took away from what a unique and innovative artist Britney was when people made that comparison. Of course she'll never be Madonna - no one will. And in the same sense no one with ever be Britney. But now every female pop star is held to that standard and it's impossible! You can tell she's flattered by the comparison but wants to be seen as a pop star/dancer/performer in her own right and she has all the goods.

only ATRL could turn a simple comment into some big attack on their beloved pop divas. all she's saying is the moments she remembers growing up are from when she was alive, which is completely normal

she didn't shade britney or xtina at all

As someone who's a few months younger than her, what's the problem with her statement? It's not her fault for being born in the 00s?! Sorry she wasn't born in the early 90s like most of you guys. Not everybody has to be a music historian.

Good for her but damn it makes me feel old. Then again as I've gotten older I've made a conscious effort to fall in love with music dating back to the 60s so I look forward to her getting to do that - imagine getting to go back and discover Britney and Christina from the late 90s to 2004?

She just stated the truth though? :deadbanana2: I still think both of them are influences in her music though

Girl, yall doing the most, just because she didn't grow up and witness/understand Brit/xtina in their prime doesn't mean she didn't discover it later on. She wasn't being shady
