Madonna and Xtina both started it (and deserved it) 

 

she wasn't mean to Celine, she just voiced that what she did was disrespectful in her opinion

 

she wasn't mean to Ariana either, just detested the idea of her coming up using her blueprint and being the "new" her. When she got her own identity, Mariah became less jaded 

 

J. Lo was used to literally destroy Mariah and while it isn't her fault necessarily (unless more went on that we don't know about), I'd be pissed too it somebody was trying to eradicate me and my livelihood.

Both Mariah & Xtina have been mean girls, no need for their fans to act like either of them is sweet and innocent but always misunderstood. 

 

Also both Mariah & Xtina started being more receptive and kind to newer females just relatively recent too. Leona said Mariah was rude to her too, and JoJo/Gaga/Melanie/etc have all had Xtina being passive aggressive to them. 
 

I think they're both at a point where they've matured a lot and realize how toxic they were.
