Hm first artist that comes to mind is Lorde. Did she come for her?

I feel this has nothing to do with anyone, at all, and she's simply saying "sure they were in a bad spot when they wrote X song, but I don't like it".

Annie worked with Taylor and has always spoken positively about her. It seems like a reach to assume she's shading her out of nowhere, especially with such a specific reference to a dog. Also many artists write about heartbreak in their songs.

sounds like to me someone else is obsessed with coming up with reasons to Trash Taylor, not annie.

Not people looking to make this shade while it's actually just one of the oldest literary discussions ever. Doe the author/maker matter? Or does art stand on its own? How people think about this has been HUGELY different troughout history. It's clear the story of a creator matters more to the average person now than ever, but there have been many times where people believed art should be seen as something autonomous. Go read some literary history, people!!
