l3disko Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Spotify monthly listeners [11/16]: Katy Perry - 59,979,390 Beyonce - 55,457,234 It's been like this for a while now, even before Katy released 143. Why? 2 1
Devin Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago bc katys album is more recent than beyoncé… monthly listeners is a useless metric. 2

Doctor Dick Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 3 minutes ago, Burn said: Did the Disease disaster not show you how meaningless 'monthly listeners' is Oh Burn. You do know even on daily Spotify streams and albums Gaga surpasses Beyoncé and so does Katy? OT: I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Katy's biggest hits were more recent. Beyoncé has like almost a decade on Katy. And I think it's also worth mentioning Beyoncé has many way more experimental and urban sounding records which don't do as well as Katy's pure bubblegum pop. Besides, Beyoncé even with less streams and monthly listeners has joined a rank Katy will never: LEGEND STATUS and that's because of something called talent. 1
Onyxmage Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Thank you for proving that this "metric" means absolutely nothing. 1
Phaunzie Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) more classics Well, it's true, like no shade but Katy is a more accessible and more widely used artist. Plus, she has a song for everything. Acclaim and impact don't translate to more monthly listeners. Edited 2 hours ago by Phaunzie 2
shoganai Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Henny you already know the answer. she knows she knows
dumbsparce Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago To be fair, I feel like Beyonce might have better average streams/song as her listeners consume entire albums which isn't the case with Katy, to put it nicely.
satellites.™ Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Katy debuted in 2008, she has a generation on Beyonce of listeners, versus CD owners or iTunes buyers. We own our music, we dont rent on average, some do.
TeemoR Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Beyonce hasn't had a hit since Telephone. That's why. 1 4
itshyolee Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago More proof that this alleged metric holds no weight. 9 minutes ago, TeemoR said: Beyonce hasn't had a hit since Telephone. That's why. It's like y'all just pull things out of y'all buss 1

Tylerbv Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Why is anyone mentioning 143? If anything that only decreased Katy's listeners

And this is determined because of Spotify monthly listeners? Sksjjsjsj I'll just let y'all Katycats hop around in joy because I know this year was hard for y'all 2
Solar Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It's been more than a decade since Bey stopped chasing charts and quik easy singles, it takes a bit to really appreciate her albums so it makes sense to me she's not a streaming monsters but still a very acclaimed artist.
SweetenerNostalgia Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago more global hits = more playlisting so more listeners
Slap Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Because monthly listeners are a distraction and don't let the music speak for itself.
Queenyoncee Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Monthly Listeners are not important, you have to look at the overall streams and Beyoncé is more streamed than Katy on Spotify, AM and more Why Spotify's Monthly Listeners stat is irrelevant Quote The query "monthly listeners" spotify, with the double quotes, gives you over 2 million results on Google, the perfect illustration of a statistic that is more and more popular. Yet, it's irrelevant. https://chartmasters.org/why-spotifys-monthly-listeners-stat-is-irrelevant/ 1
Kingdom Posted 39 minutes ago Posted 39 minutes ago Wow....that explains why 143 was such a successful album. 2

No shade but if Katy were "widely used" she wouldn't have become a has been as soon she changed her haircut!? She's obviously has a target audience even tho she had a moment when everyone used her sings... which happened to Beyoncé as well.
