Tropez Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Clarity by Zedd was a top 10 hit in the US peaking at 8. Yet, WW this didn't do so well. Usually EDM songs smash worldwide and flop or do okay in the US. But this is one of the few occasions where the opposite happened. Why? The song is actually good it even got a Grammy. It was released twice in the UK and it did nothing. 1
prettyinpink940 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I never understood why the song peaked so low on most charts. But it remains one of the most remembered (and best) EDM songs of all time, which just goes to show that chart positions are meaningless. 5
Vixen Eyes Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago idk but there was a huge wave of EDM and dance songs on the chart in the early 2010s so that could be why it smashed here
kellebrity98 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago it was huge in the Balkans, Hungarian radios played this nonstop
wastedpotential Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I came for this, but tea, Clarity was a smash in the US. I didn't know it flopped ww, they missed out. 1

dumbsparce Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago For one flop there are 10 other EDM hits in Europe. It just so happened that this one was more US-friendly as european EDM hits tend to have female vocalists with "colder" tones. Foxes' vocals are bubblier and warmer than the likes of those faceless EDM girlies that are on european radio 24/7.

OrgVisual Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago What's the definition of flop? Chart peaks? By that logic then Billie's "lovely" must be a huge flop

Nightingale Posted 56 minutes ago Posted 56 minutes ago Never knew this flopped internationally. Seems like a no brainer international hit. Maybe because it was his breakout song so the world didn't give him a chance until later?
