Did being pretty negatively impact Madison Beer's career?

Over the years, Madison Beer has built a solid catalog with fantastic music spanning multiple genres.

It's unclear to many why someone who is so talented and releases bops consistently couldn't crack into the mainstream yet. One theory is that her looks are a factor that plays against her, due to her not having an attainable level of beauty.

I've heard many people online and irl say that and I think I agree. Thoughts?

No, signing with Epic did

Dua, Sabrina and Tate are also gorgeous. They just have competent labels

No because you've had popstars in the past and movie stars that have/had unattainable beauties and they still smashed. Her problem is her music. Yes, she's getting better now from what I've heard but she was basically a household name for a generation FOR her beauty and not her talents and now it's just hard for her to be taken seriously.

If she made a bop with THOSE LOOKS she could smash hard.

I don't think they have unattainable levels of beauty nor are they defined and commonly known for "being pretty"

No, it is because she has no brand and is just a musician. If she had a brand, more people would cling to her.

I want you to tell me one era of hers that stands out in comparison to her peers.

Tate is definitley not. She's very sexy to some but her face you could find on the streets in any country. Sabrina is good-looking but her face card isn't all that either. Dua is the closest one to the example of Madison and I've heard people claim she's hot before.

I hate the era of pop girls being relatable God…. Madison's beauty is truly threatening and that's amazing. Home to Another One should have been bigger than Espresso

As others mentioned, she's got the looks and singing skills, but she hasn't crafted a strong brand image.

I mean look at Sabrina.. it took her what? 5-6 albums to finally get a hit? And now she's all in in this current 60's vintage pin up girl brand looks or whatever.

No the problem is the music and management. Plus what exactly makes her stands out? What is her brand?

Not this ariana wannabe. :toofunny3:

There are many pretty pop stars but Madison's beauty is intimidating and falls under the "perfect" and unapproachable type. She seems aware and too apologetic of that because she's putting extra effort in proving she has talent, which she already has. But maybe now that she's a GRAMMY nominated artist she should start working on her brand... one where she owns all that she is. Let these b****es have it

She looks like an average botched LA resident.

What is unattainable, is her heavily edited instagram photos and videos and noone is threatened by that in real life... definitely not enough to boycott her music lol

they have nothing in common with Ariana

OP: her commercial breakout is delayed due to her label not promoting her in any way. She can sell out her tour thanks to her building a fanbase back then and still interacting with them. i hope she will win the grammy and epic will start pushing her or a different label like Island who helped Sabrina too will sign her and give promotion.

Being pretty is all she has.

Shes just a basic ***** and the definition of an Instagram model. Who looks at that and wants music from it? She has absolutely no conviction.

You've heard people claim Dua is hot?

Well no s**t, Sherlock Holmes.

The woman is a walking goddess to straight men.

Looking and styling herself like a Fashionova model since she was 18 probably isn't doing wonders for her music career, but would the average person even know her name if you handed them a picture of her?
