Marla Singer Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I don't think this album doing well is something he needs worry about. 3
Matchatea Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 To be fair he has been in the industry since he was a kid, starting at 15. So he already knows what it's like to have that star power and fame. It's a lot for pppl so he probably wants to stay low key. He probably is set for life so I understand him just wanting to drop music and not care about the pop star lifestyle! 1

Yeah as much as I joke there's not much for him to gain from another number one album beside people able to say you have another number one album, like he's already rich so he can just drop whatever he wants and he'll be fine. And it's not like he's doing these massive expensive albums with big features and expensive music videos

loveisdead9582 Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 I mean… if he's content releasing and writing mediocre material then good for him. But if you know that what you're putting out isn't anything that people want to hear then why out it out at all? At least put a couple of bangers on there to round it out.

Imagine going into work and saying "I don't want to write that report/send that email/serve those customers at the expense of my happiness". Maybe I'm the crazy one here but I don't see how prioritizing health is laziness. He made an album and is playing shows. That's his job, and he is doing it, but he is doing it with the mindfulness of his health and not committing to more than he knows he can handle. Everyone always preaches about how we need to make mental health more seriously and then ends up criticizing someone when they do. These people die young and then everyone rushes to say in the aftermath "we should learn to do better" and then they…don't. An artist's job is to make music. Everything else is extra. They are not here to promote the way you want them to promote or jump when you say jump or dance when you say dance. He has fulfilled his one and only obligation and owes no one anything more than that. I think what's at the core of this for a lot of people in stan spaces is they cannot comprehend that there are people out there who just don't put as much stock in success and charts as they do. They can't comprehend it's about more than numbers for some.

He has always been very honest with his lack of reverence for traditional success metrics. He has been open with the fact that he stopped caring about charts ages ago.
Acuminatus Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 He's going to be a very happy man this album cycle 4
jim19911126 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 Well good luck with that, at least this album is better than the last one.
DemDam92 Posted November 17, 2024 Posted November 17, 2024 He knew it will flop before he even released it.
