commander Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) I think she nailed that annoying "theater" tone and intonation perfectly. And coming for Ariana's vocals in general is insane Edited 7 minutes ago by commander 3 1
MaxMartin Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago she sounds like it should be , also , isn't the song like 4mins long with some impressive vocal acrobatics at the end? she will shut their mouths as always.
Colmillo Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago It's not like a casual movie goer is going to be like "she doesn't sound like someone singing in a musical" anyway, so...
Archetype Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago This is why theater people rarely ever find success outside of theater. Their intonation and tone are grating and annoying outside of the context of a live performance. No one actually wants to go to the movies and hear someone pronounce every single letter like they're being electrocuted up the ***. This movie is going to smash and Ariana was the perfect fit for her role. 1 2
Truth Teller Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago "Real Broadway actresses" do not do well in cinema or any other medium for that matter. They are EXTRA and look cringey and un-natural. All their techniques, in vocalization and animated expression, are strictly suited for the stage. They cast Ariana for a more modern, understated approach that kids and people who aren't flamboyant theatre geeks will be able to stomach. If they wanted Kristine Chenoweth, I'm sure she was available 1

Their looking for somthing to criticize and failing also none are qualified to critique singing at this level anyway. she gonna get Oscar nominated and they need to cope
Pud Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago This is so dumb. She ISNT performing on a broadway stage. She's singing in a film…
Thuggin Posted 53 minutes ago Posted 53 minutes ago This isn't the final take btw. The number in the movie is live. Also, first the complaints were "She sounds too much like Chenoweth, she's just doing an impression and didn't make it her own" and now it's "She doesn't sound like she's singing theater at all" like okay. I'm all for constructive criticism but I feel like most of these people were never going to be happy from the minute the casting was announced

Still will check out the movie w/ my girlfriends regardless 1
stoopidjenna Posted 36 minutes ago Posted 36 minutes ago I think she sounds good but something about the sound mixing sounds off… hopefully it's just the audio quality for this clip

I'm sorry but they did my good sis DIRTY in some of the scenes… 2 hours ago, Katamari said: what a weirdo is this what an OAH does? i cant believe i used to do that oh princess ari Happy you saw the light!!

Jude Posted 22 minutes ago Posted 22 minutes ago (edited) Invalid opinion. Those are the people who have been praying for the Wicked downfall because their irrelevant faves were not casted. Those people are really annoying and I can't wait for this movie to prove them all wrong and eat dust. Edited 21 minutes ago by Jude

While being live in a theater they need to sing in that style, but that doesn't mean it'll work in other forms of entertainment 1
