MusicIsMyMaster Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Debut album out now! Quote Turkish-Italian DJ, producer and multi-instrumentalist Carlita (real name Carla Frayman) announces her long-awaited debut album 'Sentimental', set for release 15th November on Ninja Tune. Along with the announcement Carlita shares lead single "The Moment" featuring acclaimed English producer and singer-songwriter SG Lewis. 'Sentimental' is the culmination of Carlita's musical journey years and years in the making. The album notes a creative milestone in her productions, building a sonic narrative using her life experiences as its building blocks. "I want fans to see a different side to me musically," Carla says. "I think most people come to my shows at clubs and festivals and see me playing lots of big club records but I want people to hear this album and really see a different side to me musically and be left surprised by the sound of it." Speckles of these moments, along with a cast of talented friends can be heard first-hand throughout 'Sentimental'. "Trouble Symphony" opens the album with DJ Tennis right at the beginning like how he was at the start of Carla's career. SG Lewis, acclaimed producer who joined Carlita at Senza Fine's New York Fashion Week show last year, lends his vocals to lead single "The Moment". "Comme Ça Voce" taps into her Italian roots, featuring vocals from Sicilian musician Orofino. Mascolo, Elderbrook, Julietta and Cleo Simone round out the list of esteemed peers who have contributed their time and talent to 'Sentimental'. As Carla elaborates, "It was an amazing experience working with all the people involved in the album and so great to see how everyone has different creative processes. It was really inspiring for me and also taught me lots of new things along the way." Undoubtedly the most important track on the album, the previously released "Time" is a song that has stuck with Carla through many DJ sets. A standout closer to many sets, the song solidifies a palpable connection between Carlita and any crowd she plays to, making it a perfect ending to a transcendent experience. The song serves a similar purpose as the penultimate track on 'Sentimental'; a heartfelt statement that not only encompasses the overarching thesis to her debut, but it also cements Carlita as an exceptional producer and songwriter. "There's so much thought process that goes into an album and that's why it's taken so long for me to be truly happy with it. The creative process has been amazing albeit stressful at times but it's been so rewarding." Tracklist: Disc 1 1. Trouble Symphony (feat. DJ Tennis) (Extended) 2. Planet Blue (feat.
