Armani? Posted November 15 Posted November 15 We don't have Catalist or Pew Research for post election analysis yet, but Votecast released their numbers contradicting the exit polling with Trump doubling his support from 8% in 2020 to 16% as opposed to the media exit poll going from 12% to 13%. Most of the jump came from Black men going from 13% to 25% in Votecast. And also Black women shifting right from 7% to 10% Trump 16pts swing is really -8% btw here 82 Majority Black Counties in the country swung to the right by an average of 2.7pts https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/11/06/us/elections/trump-america-red-shift-victory.html Detroit -3.5% margin Baltimore -2% margin Philly -2.5% margin Chicago up to -5% margin New York City -4.7% margin Does anyone know where this crazy swing would be occupied? 1
Arthoe Posted November 15 Posted November 15 These are just percentage swings and say nothing about the actual movement of voters. With the voter turnout being significantly lower than 2020 election, the increases in percentage are very likely just previous democrat voters just staying at home and not voting at all instead of swinging conservative.
MattieB Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Not by much, when it comes to all demographics we're the ones who voted blue the most, especially Black women The blame game should evade black people tbh. Latinos and white women should get most of it. Most white men want Jim crow back so that was always out of the question 1 1
Armani? Posted November 15 Author Posted November 15 The media exit poll was always higher for Trump than the national average factoring in Catalist & Pew Research for 2020(90% - 9% vs 87% - 12%), which would probably explain why it didn't move much this year But these #s look like a 87% - 12% national average at worst.
umich Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Detroit isn't that surprising considering their proximity to Dearborn - the city with one of the largest Arab-American population in the US.

Everyone else even black man shifted a bit to the right.
