They have every right to feel this way. She's playing in their faces. You can only stream Invasions but so many times.

Yes they can feel whatever way they want. Their actions however, are weird. As I said, getting on the internet offering ultimatums to your fave is weird, threatening to no longer be a fan, flipping to their rival instead IF she doesn't post new music is weird. Cardi may also be acting weird. That doesn't really change the fact that acting like an entitled child because you don't yet have a new album is silly, unserious behaviour that makes it seem like your fan-ship look performative.

Mind you since her debut (and only) album she has released 12 solo singles, 19 singles as a featured artist plus one solo promo single, eight of which were Top Ten, three of which went #1. It's not like there's been a complete drought of Cardi's music. I'm not even her stan, but I do think that even if you are jerked around a bit with release dates and whatnot, a true fan would want the artist to do what THEY think is best. If I were her fan, I wouldn't want her to put out an album she didn't think was ready, good enough, or that wasn't aligned to what she wanted to do at the moment.

Mind you since her debut, Megan has released 8 projects, Latto dropped 4 albums, City Girls dropped 4 albums, Doja dropped 3 albums, Glo dropped 3 projects and Nicki dropped 2 albums. ALL of her peers are running circles on her. 

 

The "as a fan" crap holds no weight in this situation anymore. She's lied repeatedly year after year about an album that doesn't exist. She didn't get jerked by the label--she kept getting pregnant and got herself shelved.

I've not said she's at her peers' level of output, I've said there's a lot of music still for fans to consume.

 

Whether or not they want to continue stanning her for saying an album is coming when it hasn't yet come is completely up to them. I just find the approach wherein you're a Cardi B fan page tweeting ultimatums about stanning Nicki instead to be incredibly immature and silly. As I said, it's the same thing as when people comment "UNFOLLOWING!" on social media, an arrogant display of petty childishness as if anyone even cares.
