On July 27, 2024, at San Diego Comic-Con 2024, it was revealed that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty had been canceled and that the fifth Avengers movie would instead be Avengers: Doomsday, dropping the Kang storyline in favor of Doctor Doom.

 

The Russo Brothers were officially announced to be the directors of Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, with Robert Downey, Jr. unveiled to be the actor that would portray Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom.

 

It was also announced that the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts would appear in the film.

 

On July 29, 2024, it was reported that Alan Silvestri would be composing the score for the film.

 

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Tom Holland would be reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film.

Anyone tired of the Avengers? I'm ready for Marvel's X-Men debut. Rogue could've had a perfect introduction in the Captain Marvel movies. I dunno what Disney is thinking. They need to hurry up the timeline with the X-Men

I have faith Doom will be given a Very dramatic and serious storyline. RDJ is gonna kill it. I think marvel learn thier lesson and will treat him more like Thanos.
