news Bluesky tops the US App Store, as people leave X behind

After the election, lots of people are trying to find an alternative to Elon Musk's X, formerly known as Twitter, and it looks like many are moving to Bluesky.

 

It's #1 on the App Store right now.

Bluesky was created by the former CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, but he's no longer a part of its board. The site is owned by Jay Graber and Jeremie Miller.

But so far it hasn't had that many users. Let's see if this becomes a bigger trend.

Threads sucks because it forces you to download the app. I'd use it if I could just use my Instagram account and it was like another tab on Instagram. But needing a whole new app? Nah

I've had an account since last year but haven't used it yet  I kinda wish it still required an invitation to join because the last thing it needs is the MAGAts and bots joining.

You can change that! But the reason is that every user profile is basically a separate web page; that's kinda the while point of Bsky being decetralized.
