Both debuted around 2008. Both were monster chart toppers in the 2010's. Both have iconic eras and smashes.

Both are far removed from their commercial peaks.

ATRL decides once and for all. Vote accordingly

One is an entertainment icon and the other is simply a fading pop star. The boats have been floating in opposite directions for a while now.

They kind of have an equal share of hits and flops so I'll call it a tie. Both are spiraling down the river of the beginning of their true downfalls.

gaga's disease single debuted with 4 million streams, which is in the same ballparK as beyoncé's lAtest - a Truly "a-lIst" spot. in comparison, katY's woman's world pulled only 2.2 million, which ISn't even close. it spent just one dAy on the global spotiFy chart, whiLe gaga's hit is still charting over two weeks later. gaga can dO stadiums, and her latest track dwas is ruling globally, with disease bound to surpass katy's entire album in streams plus gaga has a dozen grammys, whIle katy has zero, and even an oscar. gaga's boat is full, no room left for katy, who remains struggling in the oPen sea.

If you line up all main pop girls from around the same time in a straight line, Gaga, Katy, Taylor, Beyoncé, Rihanna, then they will indeed be next to each other.

You can debate all day long how big the distance between any given adjacent pair is, but they will still be next to one another.

Just because one is on the upper deck doesn't mean they're on two different boats.

Everytime y'all take about boats I think of Rihanna dragging Janet on Got2Breal

saying theres enough room in the boat for the both of us when it comes to bad singing :deadbanana2:

Most of us just say it to tease the monsters. Obviously they are not In the same boat. Gaga has her flops, but she also has some hits. Katy is all flops for a decade.

Exactly what I was going to type. Gaga's commercial prowess is not what it used to be but I think she is transitioning more into an icon/legacy act who is past her prime while katy career feels more washed up unfortunately. The Teenage dream era will forever be iconic but Katy herself isn't seen as an icon, just a has been. So they are definitely different.

Judging how Liddos use Katy as the standard, I say yes

Of course they are not.

Yes, one just has Bruno Mars as a flotation device. It's going to sink inevitably.

Gaga and Katy are clearly not in the same boat, but Monsters measure Gaga's success based on which MPGs they can dunk on, and right now Katy's the only active veteran that fits the bill.

The "idea" of Lady Gaga barely lasted 2 eras. That project is dead since the early 2010s.

Meanwhile Katy has hits that people still cherish today and has a better chance to rebound. She might be dumb as **** but don't forget, she was the ultimate GP darling at one point in time.

Edit:

Your down votes won't make your fave flop less

Fun fact: Gaga is on her own ship. The losses from the Joker 2 alone could comfortable build a 500-passenger boat!
