If you line up all main pop girls from around the same time in a straight line, Gaga, Katy, Taylor, Beyoncé, Rihanna, then they will indeed be next to each other.

 

You can debate all day long how big the distance between any given adjacent pair is, but they will still be next to one another.

Exactly what I was going to type. Gaga's commercial prowess is not what it used to be but I think she is transitioning more into an icon/legacy act who is past her prime while katy career feels more washed up unfortunately. The Teenage dream era will forever be iconic but Katy herself isn't seen as an icon, just a has been. So they are definitely different.

The "idea" of Lady Gaga barely lasted 2 eras. That project is dead since the early 2010s. 

 

Meanwhile Katy has hits that people still cherish today and has a better chance to rebound. She might be dumb as **** but don't forget, she was the ultimate GP darling at one point in time.

Gaga worked very HARD to be respected for her talent. All those tribute performances, jazz albums, acting showed her VERSATILITY as an artist. Despite Disease flopping, LG7 is looking to be one of her most cohesive body of works yet. Every snippet sounds like a bop and Gaga's back in her element making dance music with an edge only she can bring. Katy WASTED her years on American Idol and took NO RISKS during her peak. With the right song Gaga can smash. DWAS proves this. But these opportunities will only come to her because everyone lowkey wants to work with Gaga. This is partly because she's always known to be a great performer and vocalist and musician. Katy has NONE of these things hence the only people that wanna work with her are C listers like Kim Petras. GAGA is a once in a generation TALENT, Katy is NOT. Am I making myself clear?
