The country isn't moving right, the dem party moving right themselves and their lack of counter messaging ANYTHING is making it seem like that. 2

But the issue isn't how left Kamala was; it's how right the rest of the country is. People voted for the rapist with severe mental problems and addiction, and you think that primarily boils down to Kamala being centrist? Girlies. Come on. Yes. It boils down to messaging and choosing to oppose the right …by moving right. Undeniably bad strategy. Dems don't even need republican gerrymandering at this point they are suppressing their own vote Chenying it up 1

The bad economy is a major reason for it, yes. But, Trump's vote totals are comparable to his 2020 vote totals. Kamala massively underperformed more so than Trump overperformed. This is because Kamala provided no alternative. Let's say you're a voter (let's say a Latino voter, specifically) that cares deeply about immigration and opposes anti-immigration rhetoric as your #1 issue, please tell me who this voter should vote for: Candidate A: "I will build a big border wall on the southern border because immigration is bad." Candidate B: "I will build a bigger wall on the southern border and amp up efforts to prosecute undocumented immigrants." Immigration was a big issue in this race. Anti-immigration voters were always going to go Trump because he has the credibility on that lane of political thought on that issue. Choosing to not present an alternative idea on that issue was stupid. Kamala making it a focus of her campaign was a horrible decision because it ceded ground to Trump and legitimized his philosophy of what the problems in this country are. All good politics have a cogent bad guy. Legitimizing Trump's bad guy was the most criminal miscalculation of Kamala's campaign.
