They did not vote FOR him. They voted AGAINST the Status Quo. At the end of the day, every incumbent across the globe got waxed because of inflation and economic stress. I really was delusional to think Kamala was going to win, when every poll and exit poll said the top concern was inflation & cost of living. We can nitpick about what the Harris campaign could have done better, but it was always going to be an uphill battle. When it comes to bread and butter issues, people do not care about character, they want change. Kamala was more popular with a better approval rating than trump, but that was not enough to offset the difficult political climate.
