Jimmy Kimmel gets emotional giving post-election monologue

I get it. Honestly, what I am most worried about is the damage that these 4 years are going to do to the American GP. By the time his term is over racism, queerphobia and sexism will be completely normal. That's even more scary because it will have a lasting impact on people.

It's crazy to me that he once used to co-host The Man Show.

right wing celebrity Media has been a huge part of brainwashing too, what are you on about? It's dumb but both sides do it, like with Alex Jones, Joe Rogan, Elon musk, and the drove of social media influencers that have been spreading propaganda.

the only difference is they started online and you know these days these people are way more popular and get to cop out about being called celebrity even though they make as much money and are in bed with the same corporations and politicians

The difference between Jimmy Kimmel and Rogan is that Rogan speaks directly to the interests of his listening base. I think his politics are terrible but he has a direct line with right-wing bros because they believe the same things. Kimmel and a well-meaning liberal DO NOT believe in the same things. Kimmel believes in a establishment, anti-working class Dem Party that is beholden to donors, not to the people. your average well-meaning lib wants Medicare for All. Kimmel does not. your average well-meaning libs wants higher taxation for the rich. Kimmel does not.

Ergo, when well-meaning libs see Kimmel crying on TV and posturing about Trump they believe Kimmel is on their side. Kimmel is most definitely not on their side nor does he believe in the same things as a non-rich liberal. Rogan, to an extent, does believe in the same bullshit bros listening to him care about. They genuinely are on the same side (which is not my side, let that be clear). Thus, he is definitely more genuine than Kimmel even if I reject his politics and think he is a dumb ****.

We are in the hunger games era when Kimmel is saying "it was a bad night for so many things" and he's choking back tears, but the audience is being told to clap. Like

Is this type of negativity necessary? Do we really need to eat and trash our own?

For years Kimmel has been exposing Trump's stupidity. What if he's white and rich?

His heart is in the right place. Trashing him is doing no one favors.

Wow, exposing Trump´s stupidity? What a courageous person!

Kimmel is not my own, darling. And no, I don't think his heart is at the "right place". Literally never seen him defending any cause I believe in or anything except for "vote for this establishment, corporate friendly Dem" and "Trump's bad". Having a huge platform and being a multimillionaire posing as some progressive ally while not doing anything worthwhile except for the most obvious rich lib handwringing isn't something I find particularly inspiring.

I don't know, I find talk shows so fake and prefabricated that this feels more like a performative act instead of a genuine act

I bet that they'll be enjoying Trump's tax cuts in secret lmao
