It's the end for the government. The FDP has left the coalition.

This was kinda expected tho, not surprising. There's been talks that the coalition would collapse for weeks now, and today was the day they were to determine if there was a way forward for the coalition.

Yup that's it for the Ampel but this was predicted to happen today. Scholz will ask for a vote of confidence next, then re-elections.

Yes, I heard about it but I didn't know it was that serious. A horrible day for Europe :skull:

I don't have the energy for this :chick3:

The right wing turn out will be devastating.

This coalition was trash. I don't like the Conservative party but they are not as bad as the Republicans or the British Conservatives and they will form a coalition with the SPD or the Greens so it's all good. I'm voting for the Greens :chick1:

The AfD is 10x more fascist than the Reps in America. (And they will win this time). They even run on the same slogan: Make Germany Great again... and by great they mean 1933 - 1945.

Good luck to me and all other normal people. I suddenly feel the frustration that Democratic voters are feeling right now.

With Germany becoming a full on Nazi-Country (again), + Nazi USA and The Fascists in China, NK and Russia... maybe Germania Magna and Co. will succeed in transforming the world to an everlasting pit of glooming hell.

I will try to vote multiple times and commit voting fraud as much as I can, but I need the help of my fellow German, ATRL Diva Lovers. Gays4Freedom... let's go.

Imagine: yesterday everything seemed fine... and now the #1 and #3 biggest economies int he world will transform into Nazi-esque states.

This type of re-invention of reality is not what I envisioned.

I will try to mock all these Gays 4 Weidel people on Tiki Tak as much as I can... but I will need help.

Y'all are gonna witness something even MORE sinister than what is happening in the USA in Germany. Anybody got a place to stay?

So its quite evident Scholz is trying to mingle with the CDU now who are likely going to win the re-election to opt for a big coalition (CDU and SPD together, potentially together with BSW). I feel like they are testing out this coalition type in different parts of Germany now and if it works, they will try to opt for this one.

Lets see.

I personally dislike Merz, so I dont even wanna think about the future. Anything better than AFD tho

Good time to be British

Yes but it's been spectacularly useless, especially on the Ukraine.

London? 4 years and 8 months to go of a Labour Govt with a huge majority.

@Virgos Groove You can remove the question mark from the thread title.

The other FDP ministers have now resigned in solidarity with Lindner, marking the end of the coalition.

Scholz announced his intention to hold a vote of no confidence on January 15 so that snap elections can be held by the end of March.

The CDU/CSU opposition demands that Scholz triggers the vote of no confidence within the coming days so that elections can be held early next year.

The only thing susprising about this is that Scholz actually did anything at all.

I applied for my citizenship in September and was hoping to be able to vote for the elections next year but with a possible election in March, it doesn't seem likely.

I am really scared. Re-elections will be a hard mess next March.
