Colmillo Posted November 3 Posted November 3 So I want to buy new headphones and right now I'm between two options: Sony's WH-1000XM4 and the Sennheiser Momentum 4, I've read good things about both but I would like to know which ones do you guys think i should get, I'm looking for headphones that I can use anywhere, like the bus or at the gym, good/great noise cancelling and good/great audio, also I would love if they have good bass. So which ones should I get? If there's another option that you think I will like please let me know thank you in advance.
Kayseri Mantisi Posted November 3 Posted November 3 if you use Android: Sennheiser Momentum 4 if you use iOS: AirPods Max (even though they're inferior compared to Sennheiser, Apple forces non-Apple devices to use outdated Bluetooth codecs) 2 3
RideOrDie Posted November 3 Posted November 3 i would have said sennheiser but i bought the momentum 4s and had so many connectivity issues with them that i had to return sony will have more bass and better noise cancelling btw, so if you'll be using them outside all the time go for that 1
Ohno Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I've seen many people say that Sennheiser has terrible quality control. I have their earbuds and they broke 3 times within a year I would go with Sony. 1
itshyolee Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Send me the money and I'll buy it for you bff On a serious note, I'd say you should go with the Sony's. Another good pair of headphones are the Srhythm's. They're cheaper but have amazing battery life and different audio modes that are great. 1
єѕℓαм Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) Sony is superior imo personally been using it for a while and the noise cancellation is amazing Edited November 3 by єѕℓαм

BlackoutZone Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Sennheiser Momentum 4 all the way for everything unless your biggest priority is ANC then probably AirPods
katykater Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) In-ear, on ear or over/around ear? Open of closed? As in do you want the entire library can sing along (it does sound roomier at home) or keep it for yourself? Replaceable parts and abuse-resistant like what the DJs are doing with their stuff? Does it have to go louder than the night club? Because the DJs want to hear the next records they are preparing to be played. Do you want to sound according to your preference/taste like more bass or do you want to hear the music exactly as it is with all the mixing mistakes and recording imperfections? [edit] I forgot wired or wireless. Edited November 3 by katykater 1

Over ear, closed, I think it would be nice if they had replaceable parts but it's not a necessity for me, they need to go loud enough for my gym sessions I don't want be lifting and wishing the music was louder, and I would prefer if there's more bass present

They can be connected even to two devices at once and it will be dynamically switching to whichever currently plays sound (I do it all the time when I'm listening to music on PC and then pick up my phone to scroll TikTok). The only annoying thing is the dedicated app, I don't use it at all, cause it's buggy as hell 1

PerfectCure Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I only own the Sony ones and the sound is SO muffled. I'm really thinking of selling them. If you're only interested in noise cancelling and not sound quality though, go for those.

Solaria Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Oomfs I need help with this as well. I want cute gay headphones with a POPPING color that has good noise cancelling but also good audio quality as well. Help me out! 1

I love my Apple AirPods Pro 2, but that isn't over ear. The over ear headphones from Apple I heard good things about! 1

Look, they are not terrible. However, the sound is okay at best to me, and for the hype surrounding them and their pricing, I expected much more. I really wondered if there was a factory issue with mine when I bought them but according to the r/sony sub on Reddit, they are universally disliked among audiophiles.
Skestina Posted November 4 Posted November 4 (edited) Been using the XM4's for almost two years now, best purchase ive ever made, they also support ldac on android which is a big bonus fa me Edited November 4 by Skestina 1
