katykater Posted November 2 Posted November 2 If she wants a normal guy and a life without excesses like a man wanting to become rich enough to afford space tourism or a fighter pilot / test pilot seeking more extreme speeds, thrills, live fast, die young,... she can select a man on having modest ambitions, desires,...

Her take is completely ignorant and people who don't want to know what's out there too It's key to travel to another planet to save humanity in the next century Climate Change, asteroids, nuclear war and even a massive volcanic explosion can end us. Name literally one good reason for the average person to care about any of that bullshit. If it ever came to that, we wouldn't be the ones who get to go. It'd be the elites and the small number of pick-me slaves least likely to rebel that they choose. If saving humanity means Elon's brats' gandchildren haunting space then yeah, don't! 2

If saving humanity means Elon's brats' gandchildren haunting space then yeah, don't! The idea that space travel will be available only for the elites is completely stupid too. Like everything it will eventually be accessible to everyone Also these "elites" are not gonna be the first ones going to other planets, people are gonna probably die by testing landings and sacrificing themselves for these tests, most planets have levels of radiation that put bodies can't handle. The only places we could probably live in this solar system are moons in Jupiter/Saturn And please stop with space travel= Elon Musk stupid association A lot of people are associating astronomy with that clown, that's one of the reasons why the idiot of Olivia said that Edited November 2 by Trent W 5
elevate Posted November 2 Posted November 2 She's talking about the Elon / Rogan bros who are into crypto / colonising space, etc (and are dangerous to women). She's not talking about astronomy. A bunch of gay men not being able to understand that is a bit alarming. Y'all need more female friends. 3 2

So wanting to know about space = Elon / Rogan bros who are into crypto / colonising space, etc (and are dangerous to women) I'm sorry but the only one who sounds stupid here is her for generalizing like that Being against space exploration is anti-science If she thinks space exploration equals to Elon musk she's a complete airhead 1

If saving humanity means Elon's brats' gandchildren haunting space then yeah, don't! You do know that the human population one day is going to have a demand that will vastly exceed the energy, water and food supply on Earth right, we at this point are barely holding on to what we got. Earth has a finite amount of resources and as a result, one day we will have to leave the planet to catch asteroids, comets and space debris to get materials needed to keep the population working. Hell, you do know that Space is the main vehicle for technological innovation and progress, without it ATRL would not exist. Space and Extra-planet missions also make progress in developing Climate Smart Agriculture and Renewable Energy technologies. Like, where do you think solar panels come from. Isn't it kind of a huge leap in logic to assume all men who are fascinated by space and exploring it would be insufferable Elon/Rogan bros? There are surely plenty who just think space is cool and don't agree with that Elon/Rogan mess. If that's indeed who she's talking about, as you said, she would've/could've been more specific. I am honestly really surprised how many of you agree with what she said in here. The average person being interested in space and answering "yes" to being asked if they'd wanna go on a first date is so harmless to me. I can't help but wonder how this same topic would go in the reverse, if a male popstar said he would immediately write off any women he dated based on them saying if they wanted to go to space or not... I think we would all rightfully be like wtf is he saying?! 2 2
JoJo Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) Why are people getting upset about this? You'd think she said something about defunding NASA based on these reactions. Pop girls aren't even allowed to be silly in interviews anymore because men take everything women say seriously Edited November 3 by JoJo 1 2 1 1
BrokenMachine Posted November 3 Posted November 3 She's kinda got a point. Like, yeah, it would be amazing for me to have the chance to go to space, but I'd rather do tons of other stuff instead of that, because going to space is kinda... boring. So I'm not fully believing I'd to to space, even if I was a millionaire. On the other hand. Queen of shading Gaga
BraveNewSeth Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I don't think she's dragging astronomers and people with an actual passion for space, but more so the Elon Musk "space is the future for the human race" type people. 1
Letters From Adi Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Musk Melon is a clown, but popstars should be last to speak on the importance of scientific advancements.
Archetype Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) 11 hours ago, Capris Groove said: I completely agree with her. We spend obscene amounts of money on space when it's been clear for decades that there is no other life in our solar system, much less anything sentient. And now they're talking about terraforming Mars? Be for ******* real. It would cost trillions and still be a shitty place to live. All of that money should be invested into Earth (i.e. climate change). We already have what we're looking for here. I get your sentiment but all of the technology that is required to "save earth" exists because of investments into space programs. I would argue that space is humanity's best science lab, and one that will allow us to continue to discover and develop new technologies that should benefit everyone. It's not about terraforming Mars or sticking a pole into foreign soil. People like Elon make what is really a scientific pursuit look bad. Also pursuing the career of "pop star" and chasing fame are the very definition of being full of yourself. I get what she's trying to say but she should have more self-awareness. Wicked Posted November 3 Posted November 3 I've heard worse/more peculiar red flags, so. Not really worth examining too much.
piotrert Posted November 3 Posted November 3 people trying so hard to yass-queen this stupid take are so funny, even reaching for musks/bezoes she could keep it in drafts. what are the chances she is astrology girly lol 2
