vuelve88 Posted November 1 Posted November 1 I thought he was previously pro-Trump, or maybe I'm confusing him with another elected official from Michigan.

This is what happens when minorities try to be proximate to whiteness or heteronormativity, it comes back to bite them in the ass. 1 1

Princess Aurora Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) I agree with Rashida. The Israeli/Palestinian situation is a humanitarian catastrophe that has been happening for a while but the Biden administration could have made a change instead, he let Netahyanu do whatever he wanted. Also, let's not pretend that Trumpet was behind all of this. Do you all remember when he moved the capital from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem which enraged Hamas even more? Funnily enough, Netahyanu also financed Hamas so he could have justified the invasion of the Gaza Strip but here we are. Edited November 1 by Princess Aurora

Why would it be the aim for any non-LGBT minority group to deviate from heteronormativity? If anything, maintaining heteronormativity is a big motivator for many minorities like Arabs, Latinos and even blacks of (of any religion) to vote conservative. Why do you think the majority of African immigrants voted conservative? And Internet leftists need to stop parroting that line about "proximity to whiteness" nonsense. That might be a contributor for some non-whites voting conservative, but it's very unlikely that it's the reason for most or the only reason. People are voting conservative all over the world. Democrats need a complete overhaul with their strategy and need to let go of "Republicans hate you and mock you so you gotta for us" song. Most minorities know that they're not liked by people on either side despite the lip service and pandering by Dems so that's not a motivator for them.

Tell that to Latino men who voted for Trump in overwhelming numbers and and while you're at it, ask them what they think about people lined up at the border.

How many American citizens empathize with a person crossing the border? I highly doubt a racially white Cuban from Florida, a Puerto Rican from Pennsylvania or a Mexican that's been here for generations in Texas can identify with Central Americans and Venezuelans lined up at the border to enter. In fact, many of them are probably the most anti-migrant of all American voters. And forget the American citizens. Did you think it was any different in their countries of origin? People actually in Latin America already complain about migrants from neighboring countries. Edited November 6 by Inverted
