Feanor Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Quote Mayor Joe Hogsett signed an official proclamation Wednesday: the first weekend of November 2024 will be 'Taylor Swift Weekend' in Indianapolis (also known, for now, as Swift City). On what may be the first city document issued on pink and blue paper, Hogsett honored Swift's cultural and economic impact. The text of the proclamation contains a secret message in capitalized letters in homage to Swift's propensity to hide "Easter eggs" in her CD liner notes. Hogsett's not-particularly-secret message reads "WELCOME TO INDIANAPOLIS." Quote About 200,000 people are expected to descend on Indianapolis this weekend. The city has been rolling out the welcome mat for weeks, and even the dinosaurs at the Children's Museum are rocking friendship bracelets. Indianapolis has already temporarily renamed 32 downtown streets to reference Swift. A glittering graphic of the singer, embossed on the side of the J.W. Marriott, can be seen for miles. .Odyssey. Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Here comes all the cute Indiana bashing by all the out of touch girlies who weren't raised in what is actually a beautiful state in parts with very nice people OT: That poster on the JW Marriott is heinous. Poor locals who have to see that out their window all week.
Feanor Posted October 31 Author Posted October 31 The friendship bracelet from New Orleans was given to the Indianapolis stadium.
nadiamendell Posted November 1 Posted November 1 She is terrorizing my city. I kid. Good for all of the Indy Swifties. Downtown Indy definitely knows how to do events. They are turning this into a city-wide festival. Some additional photos:
